General Feedback from Friday's visit at OUFC

Findlay & Smyth never got mentioned.

Jones clearly a big falling out.

Stevens clearly a falling out of sorts.

Taylor one impossible to tell till we have his side to the story.

Murphy reasons were perfectly acceptable but quite frankly very angering.

Were questions not asked about some of these players or did TW/KR not answer?

But he will be the main infleuencer.

I think in his head he’s already made up his mind but not to the level of the fanbase as he’s detached from the emotion.

Made it pretty clear to him after that if his idea is wait till the summer to change & we go down then the fanbase will change very quickly from ‘sack the manager’ to ‘sack the board’.

Jones, Stevens, Taylor & Murphy were asked about.

Findlay & Smyth weren’t. Obviously didn’t make it very high on my or others lists!

And what was the response regarding those asked about? I accept that some of this may be confidential.

My take from the meeting is that whilst KR is very comfortable at the moment, it won’t take much more to see him ousted. I believe TW does have the power to do that by presenting the facts to the board and asking them to make the decision. Whether one more defeat tomorrow will trigger that I don’t know.

Sure, but then it's the Board firing KR on his recommendation.

If (as sounds like it's the case) the CEO has not been given the authority to fire the guy who is essentially head of operations, then in my book he's not really the CEO.

And I'll stop getting angry at him, and start pitying him for having a thankless, middle management role at the club. I would hate to have a job where I basically took all the flak from customers when things didn't go well, but had to persuade a bunch of people 7000 miles away if I wanted to enact any significant changes.

What I’d like to know is for those who were there today, have you changed your views on the running of the club, manager and that things aren’t as bad as what it might look like?

So let me see if I’ve got the jest of it, new stadium all going well, KR here for the foreseeable future (Sunday) , we had a top six budget that we didn’t spend but wasted the funds we did, they understand the strength of feeling of a large part of the fan base but are prepared to wait and see, the catering provided was of an acceptable standard.

Can you expand a bit on Murphy? Guessing it’s a combination of personal issues and long term injury? Both of which plausible but unwise to P**s a bunch of money in to his account for part time contributions? Was the decision to sign him challenged at all or just a discussion around his absence?

(a) Better than Farrs.
(b) About the same as Farrs.
(c) Worse than Farrs.
(d) Farrs do the catering at the training ground.
(e) Never had a Farrs bacon butty before, so cannot compare.

KR has too much power at the football club (due to longevity) for big decisions & can ignore structures in place to get things done he personally believes he requires whether or not they’re in the long term best interests of the club.

Like I said, this is my opinion.
For me a manager of a football should have a say in most aspects of a football club, to how the academy ask their teams to play (should mirror how the first team play), which academy players get contracts, player contracts and even get to have a say in how the club should be marketed and how to get fans to the stadium. After all, they are the manager of the football club.

I think the biggest concern is who is managing the manager and the accountability of decisions.

I think it is quite clear that Robinson will be here until the summer as a minimum. There will then be a meeting about how the club reset and it will be down to the board to whether that is with or without Robinson. If he is to stay though I expect significant changes to his back from staff and above him.

That’s the most important bit. Thank f**k for that. I don’t really give a s**t about KR one way or another to be honest. If there’s a proper structure around recruitment etc then the rebuild will be done properly rather than off the back of a fag packet.

Can I also just express my thanks to those who made this meeting happen and asked the questions. You’ve got more actual important information out of the club in one afternoon than the club press office have released and the OM have published in the last bloody year. Nice one fellas 👍
Yeah massive respect and appreciation to those of you who made the effort to go along and get stuck in today.

I’m sure many more would’ve joined if they could, but we needed some soldiers on the front line today, to ask some serious questions and make the feelings of the wider fan base known, and you guys did us proud, so thanks for that 👏👏

You do know that it was a cuppa and a chat not All Quiet on the Western Front?!

For me the club should have an identity & culture set throughout it from people higher up than the manager.

You then go and employ a manager who’s able to work under what you expect under those terms.

Then you have a sporting director, head coach, academy manager & recruitment team for both working alongside each other.

This means when a manager leaves a club another one can slot in easily.

Like Brighton in the PL, Like Luton in the Championship.
