We really shouldn't feed the bears....

This is a reaction to the letter from the Oxford Mail? It doesn't mention 'lack of funding' at any point, 'commercial viability' at any point, or 'revenue and return for investors' either. And it's not an official comment from the club either, simply an opinion from a reader. Well done 'I.M.' for spectacularly missing all of the points made, and twisting it to say something entirely different to what was printed 👏

Assuming I.M is Ian Middleton, he's put quite a spin on that. Taking his points in turn:

- Lack of funding - the letter does not say there is a lack of funding but rather that there would need to be 'very significant funds' spent on the Kassam if it was purchased given its current state.

- Commercial viability - The Kassam stadium is not a commercially attractive site or location and our owners have been clear on that, so what is his point?

- Revenue - The club would like to gain revenues from the stadium to help it prosper in the future rather than have to pay a large rent and receive no revenue, what is his point?

- Return for investors - Why wouldn't our owners seek to make a return on the overall project? OUFC isn't a charity.

What an odd response.

Ah the 'neutral' green Parish, District and County Councilor displaying his impartiality yet again

any pro stadium post on any social media platform that he is on ( there's plenty) , he's all over them spreading the gospel according to him. Never lets facts get in the way of his obvious agenda

The man is absolutely obsessed. He should consider a hobby. Perhaps he should take up walking football?

Funny you mention elections. His Cherwell seat is up this year. Looking back to the last election, he won his seat by 73 votes. Turnout was 38.24%. With even a half-decent organized campaign against him, he is very vulnerable. Last election only 1 in 7 people eligible voted for him. Hopefully we can come together so Kidlington gets better representation and an obstacle from CDC planning committee can be removed.

Yep, or perhaps just go out and get some fresh air? Maybe take a walk around Kidlington's favourite triangular piece of land? Oh wait... he can't... it's not even accessible to the public.
Not supposed to be accessible, but I have a sneaky feeling that in the dark of the night, as the wind is howling, IM and SM might quietly sneak in there with a shrew or two, or at least a protected species of some sort.

The mysterious species have never materialised in all the time the fencing company have been there, but have a feeling they might suddenly and mysteriously appear one day in the future!

perhaps the very rare rattius neutralus impartialus middletonus will be found, lurking at the apex of the triangle after crossbreeding with those shrews

It made me laugh when Susan McIvor it Victoria Campbell mentioned in the council meeting that there was a protected species in the triangle, how would they know? Have they trespassed to find out
