Are gates lower?

Last season overall season average 8463. It would of been quite alot higher if we didnt start the season with covid restrictions like needing a passport to attend, last 10 home games last season the average was over 9000.

This season 7497 is our average. Sure we haven't had the big boys come to us yet, but there is definitely a slight drop and it could get alot worse come the end of the campaign.

I’d say virtually every single manager is 6 or 7 consecutive defeats away from the sack. Robinson won’t last until mid November, never mind Christmas, if he presides over that sort of run. I like him and hope he turns it around but to give any guarantees on his future is ridiculous given a change of ownership, a run that is two matches into the sackable run of defeats and recruitment that looks a bit iffy to say the least.

Good luck to him.

We always have lower attendance in August and early September (maybe due to holidays or students?), and if you look at like for like with this time last season then there's barely any difference.

There's plenty of things to blame Robinson for without a disingenuous view of attendance.

Don't forget we have more season ticket holders this season than last. Can't compare last seasons first few games as we had mask wearing, covid passports, uncertainty of games going ahead and generally some people were afraid of going back to crowded spaces.

We also have a cost of living crisis this year. And I don't recall a single game where there was uncertainty about it happening.

I'm sorry yellowbow, but what do you mean by 'will take their time to assess' and 'Robinson needs to be given a chance'? In my eyes he's 'had sufficient time' and 'been given a chance'. I'll be genuinely surprised if he survives until the end of October.
Whoa sorry Tim, don’t shoot the messenger, ‘given a chance’ isn’t coming from me and I totally agree with you. Unfortunately we don’t make the decisions and I was paraphrasing the person who does.

Masks were only required for a few games in December and January, and only for 1 game did we have to show our papers, against Sheffield Wednesday.

Fleetwood and Rotherham home games. We had half a team out with covid and there was uncertainty right up to kick off on both games.

Yes still had a slight affect on attendances, the same affect as slight injuries to the team has meant our performances and results haven't been poor. 😜

As I’ve said, Robinson has until November to turn things around. If then we aren’t looking like being up there then he will be gone.
I then expect Mous to be put in temporary charge until a new man is appointed but I’d imagine if it was looking like Karl was going then I’d imagine to board would start sounding out a replacement before actually pressing the trigger.

Umm, there wasn't really. Stick with posting about the stuff that is factual rather than making up stuff about attendance.

Agreed. Next 6 league games..

If we are in the bottom 4 area for the start of November then a change should be made.

However it shouldn’t just be Karl. If a change is made it has to be Karl/Short & Brown with a new head coach, assistant and gk coach appointed.

One thing worth noting. At any other club a manager under pressure would be talking about ‘carrying on until he hears differently from the chairman/owner’ and ‘it’s up to the powers that be to make the decision’

Here we have our ‘under pressure’ manager talking about the exciting long term project he is embarking on, and mentioning going to dinner with Bakrie and co and discussing the future. And also that he puts more pressure on himself than anyone else could, and that being at Oxford has given him a new lease of life and he loves the club etc (yes we’ve heard all that before, but he’s still brimming with confidence about the future)

It seems to me that, at least up until now, he has had a lot more power and responsibility than most managers at other clubs could dream of. He talks as though, to him at least, nothing has changed on that front. Is it just bravado on his part? Is he just supremely confident that he can turn things round and all will be well? We shall see I guess.

I want him to succeed and I want Oxford to win. Whilst I don’t have confidence in Robinson getting us up this season, we should allow him till around the end of November. If it is clear we are no further forward he should be let go, to give the new manager a chance to rescue our season.
We are not far off the play offs, although my concern and probably many others is that Ipswich, Portsmouth and Plymouth look head and shoulders above all the others in L1

Thought the comment at the end about having “less to do now” was quite interesting

Thanks for your response to my original comment, YB. I take your point. So just a quick comeback on your latest contribution; yes, I think it is bravado on KR's part.

Peter, if you don't have confidence in KR getting us up this season why should he stay in post until the end of November?

I think that season ticket sales are up this season because of the entertaining attacking football we played last season.
