Away Match Day Thread +++ 5/5/2018 Blackburn Rovers v OUFC Match Day Thread +++

The small minority of their fanbase have ruined everyone else's moment with that idiotic invasion. What a bunch of northern inbred crackpots. Fairplay to KR for not standing down. Bunch of gentleman's excuse me's

Farcical end to the game. We did well today and always tried to get on the front foot, caused them plenty of problems and for that, perhaps deserved a point. Brannagan looks very promising. Napa is definitely a work in progress, and not ready to be in the starting eleven yet, needs games and a few hours in the gym. Not sure about Mouse as a holding midfielder, not got the energy for me. If we can keep hold of Eastwood, Rothwell and sign Kane, with the rest of the squad, we have something to build from. Obika, despite going quiet in the 2nd half, actually looked the fittest I've seen him this season (lost some weight), but I'm still not at all convinced he is a man who can fire us to promotion. Owen James looks like a promising youngster, wasn't on for long, but had lots of movement, looked stocky and strong and got straight into the game. Overall we have finished the season on a positive note with reasons to be optimistic.

We did ok today, they are obviously a much better team. Some great saves again from Eastwood (never a pen). If we were just a bit more clinical we could have had another. Mous isn’t good enough in that role. Obika isn’t good enough full stop. Robinson could be in a bit of trouble he had a fan by the throat at one point. (Total deserved). Bunch of mongs only had to wait two mins. Onto next season, if we see the same fight, organisation and passion he’s installed in a short time, coupled with a lot more pace and quality and we could have a very enjoyable season

During the first invasion while most fans had got off, one fan ran the length of the pitch and when he got into the stand behind the goal, he was getting battered!

Particularly amusing. All that effort to get a fist in the face

What a mongy bunch of fans. I know they’re thick up north, but that was next level.

We played reasonably well today. Don’t think they could’ve grumbled too much with a draw. Lacked any sort of cutting edge up front. I really hope that’s the last time we see Obika

What will last long in the memory is just how badly they ruined their own celebration. Absolutely hilarious.

On to next season. COYY

Well that means two decent performances away at the Top 2 but today we went for it.
After we scored there was a time we looked the nore likely.
Obika was poor and lacks confidence. Nelson looked rusty unsurprisingly.
Brannagan and Rothwell were very good, the players gave their all and I thought that James looked bright and lively when he came on.
KR has the team looking organised and solid. We just desparately need more upfront.
Overall an enjoyable and decent game of football.

Oh and Eastwood was excellent and it didnt look like a penalty to me. We really need to keep Eastwood.

Eastwood. Brilliant. Didn't look like a pen but he wasn't complaining.
Nelson looked a bit off at times, hope its just to do with being rusty rather than having had his head turned.
Ruffels tries his best, but we definitely need to improve on him if we're going to push on.
Mous looks a lot better in CM, also frees up Brannagan.
Napa looks like one of our most skillful players with the ball, shame he's weak.
James looked promising, seemed to have pace + bit of strength. Won one more header than Obika.

Shame on the Blackburn "fans" who invaded. Hopefully they were just there for that game but the invasion just spoiled everything. No celebrations for the Blackburn players so they ruined it for them, but from our perspective we can't give players like Ledson the send off they deserve in potentially their last game for the club, players like Eastwood the credit for their performances today + all season and to James who we couldn't applaud after his debut. Credit to Robinson and Dickie for treating them how they deserve to be treated.

Sorry, but both Obika and Napa were poor again. Obika for the usual reasons and Napa getting pushed off the ball, and poor passing. He’s far too lightweight and small, cotton candy, powder puff.

Yes Napa is currently lightweight like a lot of young players when they start. Physicality and physique is part of their development as demonstrated by the development of COD who was knocked off the ball easily in his 1st season, by his last season he was knocking defenders off the ball. Unfortunately, players of Napa's age being physically ready like Rooney are the exception rather than the rule.
