12 of Derby's points deduction is an automatic deduction because they went into Administration so a separate offence.

They also have two further cases against them which could result in a further 6 in total being awarded

"Everything is rosy in the garden, the sun is out the birds are chirping and life is glorious. The takeover is going well, the land deal is being signed off, we will break ground in March 2022 with some stunning design plans one or two of us ITK folk have seen them, makes White Hart Lane look like a dump*"
This isn’t the sunlit uplands of the brexit thread.

The similarities are amazing though.

Doom, gloom we are going to get shafted & be homeless = Remain voters.

Everything will be great, the board will take us to a land of milk and honey = Leave voters.

The uncertainty of the takeover and what shape the club will be on and off the field in 5 years time is a bit like brexit though. How come when Tiger took over it was all done very swiftly and not really talked about until It had concluded?

Maybe it is because "all" Tiger was doing was taking over the club and not trying to tie up all the other stuff at the same time. So maybe it was a more straightforward process 🤷‍♂️ . I've no idea if that was the case, but I think it should be clear by now why we've got so many rich people on the board wanting a controlling interest in the club.

And I'm not convinced a 3 sided crumbling stadium is the clincher for them :ROFLMAO:

Pretty sure they've got much bigger fish to fry.

Not sure about it being swift. The Sartori bid was off in June 2017 and Tiger's takeover eventually went through in February 2018.

I think the delay was partly due to working out how Tiger would pay Eales off, eventually resolved using the transfer fees owed on O'Dowda, Roofe, Lundstram and Johnson. (who had all been sold at that point, but instalments due from the buying clubs). Possibly also the business plan and EFL approval?

I still think it's not the EFL holding up the takeover and they probably have already been granted permission. I would say its got to be do with any stadium deal, joint venture between the board and the University/councils holding up an announcement. Why else would Bakrie have done that interview if it was just waiting for efl approval he might aswell have waited.

Automatic deduction? What about Blackpool 2 years ago?

Blackpool was slightly different in the sense it was an indirect legal battle between the Oystons and a money man from Eastern/Central Europe iirc. Remember the FL were in one of the many making it up as they go along phases such as different treatment for Macclesfield compared to Bolton or Wigan.

Wigan, Bolton all got the same deduction and it is talked about as automatic in various articles I've seen about it.

Tiger was seen at games for an age before anything was completed. I remember seeing him and a gaggle of other Thais before Peterborough away in September 2017 and the takeover wasn’t announced for another five months.

Maybe they just kept it close to their chests then where bakrie and co have put it all out in the open from day 1.

I reckon the doom and gloom merchants just hate foreigners and are massive xenephobes ;)

Is that the collective noun?

I'd hardly say its been out in the open. Most of the key people have been around since the start with Tiger, not that you'd know it from anything the club has announced, other than various pictures of people in suits appearing at the training ground and the club on social media, and it's then down to detective work to find out who they are.

Bakrie has been a shareholder in Oxford Investment Holding since at least August 2019, and it's only since March 2021 that him and Thohir have announced their intended Indonesian takeover.

How come derby get 21 points deducted but Reading only 6? Is it just the amount that was overspent? Hardly seems a fair punishment for losing £51 million, MILLION. That's literally like going around a small village and demolishing all the houses for fun.
They actually lost more than that, it was adjusted to take Covid losses into account.

"According to figures at Companies House Reading posted losses of £42m in the year to 30 June, 2020, £30.1m in the previous year and £21m in the 12 months to 30 June, 2018 - a total of £93.1m

The EFL has averaged the club's losses for 2019-20 and 2020-21 and allowed for Covid-19 costs to give the lower figure of £57.8m, but that still triggered a sanction."

They, Reading, should be deducted another 6 points for being Reading IMO
