Just wanted to be the last to say... YEEEESSSSS!
f*****g fantastic day for our club.
Our supporters and our team.

Somehow, some way, We got there and for that, we should all be thankful.
Brilliant, brilliant performance that gives us the chance to laugh loudly at that big big club that completely bottled it...Portsmouth!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
No matter what happens from here on in... I am so proud of this club.

What a season and we are the form team. Sneak past Blackpool it's going to be tough but we've got some fantastic players in that team who don't give up. Another massive push .

Might be a beer fuddled fog but what where the best things about today.... ? - scoring 4 goals
- playing the way I want us to play
- Pompey freezing
- Robbo sticking two virtual fingers up to the FA
- Mad Dog looking down on us from the North Stand and Amersham Dave approving the dog on the pitch

open the floor....

I POSTED THIS TWO WEEKS AGO, the 6th, 7th and 8th positions turned out bang on.......!
.
Realistically and in summary we need to better at least one of Portsmouthā€™s results in the final two games to make a top 6 finish.
the last five matches ā€œpoints per gamesā€ gained by the teams in with a shout as follows -
Sunderland - W0, D2, L3 (2 points) - points per game 0.4 (2 games remaining 0.8 points)
Blackpool - W2, D1, L2 (7 points) - points per game 1.4 (3 games remaining 4.2 points)
Portsmouth - W1, D2, L2 (4 points) - points per game 0.8 (2 games remaining 1.6 points)
Oxford Utd - W4, D0, L1 (12 points) - points per game 2.4 (2 games remaining 4.6 points)
Charlton Ath - W2, D2, L1 (8 points) - points per game 1.6 (3 games remaining 4.8 points)

So based on the form of the teams being maintained during this period and average points per game over the last 5 rounds of matches the league positions would finish as follows.

4th Blackpool - 75.2 points (to finish with 75 points (W1, D1,L1)
5th Sunderland - 73.8 points (to finish with 74 points (W0, D1, L1)
6th Oxford Utd - 72.6 points (to finish with 72 points (W1, D1, L0) (better goal difference than Charlton)
7th Charlton Ath - 71.8 points (to finish with 72points W1, D2, L0)
ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”-
8th Portsmouth - 70.6 points (to finish with 71 points (W0, D2, L0)

THE FUTURE IS YELLOW, THR FUTURE IS OXFORD.

Can someone tell Sky not to show the play-offs please due to our record on it? Ta!

What a day.

2 matches at 90 minutes per game = 180 minutes surely....
After going 15 nil down on aggregate 30 minutes in to the second leg, the ref puts Blackpool out of their misery and sends them off for a consultation donkey ride! FIFA declare it the greatest 120 minutes of football since Escape to Victory was released!!

Going to be in Dawlish in Devon for the 2nd leg against Blackpool. Will be at the Belfry for the final. There had better be screens showing the matches or I ainā€™t going to be happy.
Iā€™m in The Peak District for the final - itā€™s 2 hours 57 minutes each way to Wembley and Iā€™m happy to drive it if required.

Iā€™m not counting on us winning the playoffs at all, but we have as good a chance as anyone and at this point form and momentum are what matters. Poor old Portsmouth, Charlton, and Ipswich! COYY!

For the sake of drawing a line under everything once and for all:

I think the guy is a dickhead as a bloke (nobody can comment on my personal dealings with him any more than I can comment on other peopleā€™s dealings with people who I donā€™t know), and I think that he makes life way harder than he needs to. He does all the hard bits and then the easy bits are often ballsed up needlessly, and he does completely contradict himself frequently while looking for plaudits / trying to deflect. I donā€™t like that heā€™s always got an excuse up his sleeve, which he turns into a medal if things go his way, and I donā€™t like that he can behave badly and isnā€™t pulled up on it. I donā€™t like that heā€™s downright lied previously, either, in terms of what he tells people privately one day and then claims publicly the next. I find it disingenuous; I donā€™t think itā€™s always just ā€˜playing the gameā€™. I donā€™t like it at all. I also donā€™t think he is as good as he thinks he is, and his trophy cabinet isnā€™t bulging for a manager of his experience and profile. Perhaps he is about to add to it, though. I make no apologies for any of that.

BUT - I donā€™t think he is a bad manager. I think he isnā€™t as good as most people believe, absolutely I donā€™t, but Iā€™ve said numerous times this season, even when we have been in the mud, ā€œI will not call for him to go.ā€ Iā€™ve become infuriated with him but I havenā€™t done that. I actively said to myself that after last season, he had earned the right. At least publicly, I havenā€™t done it. Iā€™ve criticised him (you might have noticed) but I havenā€™t said that I want his P45 issuing. Iā€™ll groan and grunt and roll my eyes, and Iā€™ll thump him when he deserves it (because sometimes he does deserve it), but Iā€™ve also praised him on numerous occasions. After the Gillingham game the other week I was one of the first people saying he spoke well and deserved credit for re-focusing after half time, for example. You have no integrity as a human being if you canā€™t offer credit when itā€™s due, just as you have no integrity if you never think anything isnā€™t good enough and only kiss peopleā€™s arses. Also, whether people admit it or not, holding others to account is necessary and often beneficial. Everybody needs it. Being a good friend isnā€™t blindly supporting; sometimes itā€™s essential to say, ā€œYouā€™re wrong and youā€™re making a mistake, and Iā€™m telling you that because I care if you mess this up.ā€

Whatever anybodyā€™s opinions or views, people who spend their time and energy posting on this forum do so because they love the club. They post here because they care; they hurt for days after a defeat because they care; they let off steam because they care; they run around the house when we score the winning goal because they care. In normal times, they spend hundreds and even thousands of pounds every year, watching games home and away, because they care. If they didnā€™t care then they wouldnā€™t be here at all. So I really think itā€™s silly that there ever has to be any sort of divide, or labelling of people, or that anybody has to be put into a category, or a ā€˜teamā€™, or that anybody can be called less or more of a fan than anybody else, when every person on here wants the same thing. I could quite easily kickstart the Cult of Karl - or as I think it would best be known, the CoK - and Iā€™m sure it would catch on and give us all a new bone to chase. It would definitely make me giggle. But I havenā€™t. Yet. No, I wonā€™t. Probably. Either way, I donā€™t think anybody here did anything other than smile and punch the air come 2pm. I know that I did.

Just my opinion, anyway. We can all have different thoughts and different views, and sometimes we will be right and sometimes we will be wrong in what we believe, but I like to think that most people here are smart enough to realise that everybody around them is a fan. One or two individuals probably wonā€™t ever get that, and will only ever prioritise their own sense of self-importance that comes with digging people out or putting themselves on a pedestal for the sake of likes, but thatā€™s their problem. Whatever they need to get them through the day. I personally believe that 99% of Oxford fans have enough about them to understand that even those they disagree with are as passionate about the club as anybody else. I really donā€™t think that anybody needs to be labelled or called a name of any description to justify that. Nobody can claim to be a champion for positivity by indulging in something so negative.

And anyway, you should just be happy that I didnā€™t mention that we currently donā€™t have a right back, and that one of our two senior centre backs (McNally hasnā€™t played a single professional game) is currently struggling to be fit, which could still end up costing us purely because we refuse to sign defenders. Iā€™ve put the effort in to avoid that today šŸ˜‰

Line drawn - I canā€™t really say anything more or fairer than that ever again. Iā€™m off for a shower beer. Feel free to join me.

Peace and f*cking. And now, more than ever, believe.

On the football front heā€™s doing. and has done, a fabulous job. Steering us away from L2 and putting in place the building blocks for two successive assaults on the play offs is no mean feat, not to mention cup exploits
