Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Absolutely, but why then does KR kame that statement? Why say he's going to sign someone and not have it announced?
Because for Robinson the deal gets done today,if it gets announced tomorrow what does it matter?

When Robinson said he wants to sign him tomorrow i always thought it was going to be Monday when it was announced.

Perhaps he's trying to embarrass the board into speeding things up?

Either way, if the deal is done then good. But, I shall expect an announcement tomorrow. And, no nonsense about needing a few weeks to get match fit. We don't have a few weeks.

Left back and winger has to be Obita. I saw Anya driving through Kiddy in the nicest Aston Martin ive ever seen, dont think he needs cash enough to come and join Karls merry relegation party.
Are you happier now we’re not a whisker from promotion? You must have hated the run just before lockdown. I dont think you were really posting then though.

Saying what he says, he embarrasses himself enough, he doesn't need the board for that.

What a combination kr and merry would have made, after merrys gaffs including "3 in a weekgate."
I can see the Monday morning press conference, announcing the arrival of Messi on a free, Pele to come out of retirement on a 4 year contact, Maradona as the new goalkeeper, "the best this league has seen," and Darren "Good bunch of lads" Patterson re-joining as head of Recruitment, Coaching, Academy, Public Relations and ifollow services.

How do expect someone who hasn't been playing to be match fit?
Did I say that?

I expect that a player who comes in will be fit enough to play, whether from the start or just for half the game. Anything less than that and it's just more nonsense. Enough time has been spent on not bringing anyone in, enough time has been spent not bringing in players we don't necessarily need.

No more. Stop making excuses. We had a pre-season. We knew who was going, We knew who would not be returning. We needed a team to make a renewed challenge for promotion.

I didn't say it would work. Just might be what he's thinking.

You can expect what you like, but it won't happen! Being fit, and being match fit are totally different.

I suggested sticking with what we have and look at getting someone match ready in January. But that was seen as giving up!! If we bring someone in now, then it's likely to be 2 or 3 weeks as an absolute minimum until they're match ready.

But that is still better than January and we can look to bring in more then as well

I fully agree with you. I was just thinking doesn't he realise how, over the time he has been here, he has embarrassed himself, making claims, comments that rarely have come true. He really doesn't help himself.
I really hope we do see a commanding CB through the door tomorrow, that takes the defence by the scruff of the neck to sort them out, is commanding and just the sort of player that will help Atkinson and Moore develop further.
The concern is that it is a young utility player who will need the usual "pre-season."

It depends who we get in now. Yes we need a lift, and players in their right positions. But if we only have one space available then there's some value in waiting until January to bring in an established player on a fee rather than someone out of contract who hasn't played for months.

Fingers crossed, we can still find someone to get us back on track but we can't expect them in and playing immediately without potentially risking more injuries.

not if he was told just over 3 weeks ago that we could do something if he got himself in decent shape, now who could that be

But to be fair Scotchers we could be adrift with a mountain to climb. I don’t think it’s a case of we’ll come good apart from Accy away we’ve been pretty woeful week in week out. Something needs to happen and happen quick, as regard being match fit you’re right being for and matchfit are two different things but if the player that comes in isn't at least 100% fit which would mean it wouldn’t or shouldn’t take long for them to get match fit. Then I would be very disappointed as I’m sure a lot of fans on here.

Your positivity can be so boring at times. If KR had taken the logical decision to strengthen the defence following the inevitable departure of Dickie we wouldn't be in the position we are. We should have done everything possible to bring in a defender in the last window but didn't. Now, we are where we are, we need to strengthen and go forward. It matters not one jot what you think about how long it will take for a player to gain match fitness. We are in the s**t now!!!
Grow a pair and admit that KR got it wrong. We need a voice of experience in the back 4, we need someone who knows the game, we need someone who makes sure we don't concede within 45 f*****g seconds of kick off. Don't make any more excuses. Match fit, my a**e!

Grow a pair?? The world is a mess right now and you're sulking because we're losing a few games of football? I suggest it's you that needs to get a grip.

My positivity might be boring (the ignore function is an option) but Christ, the negativity on here is nauseating. We've had a stop start pre-season and a stop start season. It's November and we've played 2 home games. The players are dealing with injuries and other issues that aren't being openly discussed to protect them. Robinson is holding the squad together and publicly backing them. This goes far deeper than results, and even they will improve given time.

Being a supporter is about being there when times are tough rather than giving up when things don't go our way. I'm glad that the club has more resilience than some on here, and if that opinion bores you then skip on by!
