But my mates flatmate who tested positive for Covid, only had to isolate from the day she started to show symptoms, and not the day of her test?
Beckles did not have symptoms, so isolated from his test day. Wintle I’m unsure. I think he had symptoms against Newcastle, so in that case would have been clear a day earlier than Beckles.

I asked that very question, and I was told, and I quote ‘everybody is shitting themselves that PHE will get back involved with Football, we cut a deal’.

I took that to mean the EFL have said keep your mouths shut.

You can`t stop PHE if they turn up with a warrant, which they can.

It proves beyond measure that the EFL are not fit to run a bath and Crewe are a bunch of shysters that should forfeit the game at least.

And, just for clarity .................

The person with symptoms, or a positive test, isolates for 10 days from symptom onset or when they had the test (not the result).

If you become symptomatic AFTER a test the 10 days start from the onset of symptoms.

The people in their household/close contacts isolate for 14 days.

That's the official guidance but I was actually told different.

Having been in the middle of this, the confusion and contradictory advice makes it quite stressful and difficult to think clearly.
It’s a complete mess, a scandal in fact.

The alleged deal was struck with PHE.

Someone with a positive test can be back in society 10 days after the test, but I still have to self isolate until Saturday despite a negative test I had last Saturday, no symptoms and no contact with the person who tested positive.

Doesn't make sense to me.

You need longer to allow the virus to develop and you need to pass the shedding/infectious stage.

I understand the logic, but living in a different household and not having direct contact with the person, as well as a negative test and no symptoms, I am not sure why I am not allowed to leave my house. If I'd had direct contact or my children who I haven't seen for over a week had symptoms I could understand it more.

How can anyone suggest an answer with out being told why they couldn't fulfil the fixture?
I agree. So why did they call Crewe ‘shysters’ without the full facts?

Although I have now given some explanation, although perfectly understandable not to believe me.

I was told I need to self isolate from 10 days of receiving the positive test, not the day I took the test.

These are track and trace volunteers and I don't think I actually needed to be told to self isolate but they did say 10 days from the test results.

That does sound odd because the test is relevant from the date it was taken, not the date it was received.

Makes sense to take the test and isolate until the result. Then if the result is positive the 10 days starts from test date....

I think the resentment towards Crewe stems from the first game, where they turned up at our ground without informing anyone. When one of your staff then told one of ours in a conversation rather than officially declaring it and then the Crewe management and directors couldn't see the big deal when we were unhappy about it, I think that's the reason behind our fans being unhappy. Having it called off again without the full facts being disclosed has led to suspicions of more wrong doing by Crewe.

Just an explanation rather than having a go at you, Crewe.

What i dont understand is this. Saturday Crewe played Wigan. Mr Crewe has told us that Crewe ( the football team ) had a clean bill of health regarding Covid, meaning that the 2 guys who had tested positive for our original fixture were able to play against Wigan. So if nothing else had changed regarding Crewe players why was last nights game called off? Something must of happened for the game being postponed. Even on sky ports they were reporting it as Crewe could not fulfill the fixture after consulting the EFL and PHE. There has to be more to this than what is being put out in the public domain.

Spot on, except Beckles did get his all clear before the Wigan game. It came on the day itself, hence he was a late addition to the squad.

Edit. Beckles got his 10 day test on the Friday. You count the day of the initial test as day 1.
Shows how foolish it was for Crewe not to nip thus on the bud immediately Wintles tested positive. Should have tested whole squad, postponed Oxford match on 3rd and by now this would have been over and done with.

Haven’t seen all of this thread! But if you had just tested everybody after the first positive tested, then surely all of this could have been avoided?

If Crewe had no further positive tests, then I don't understand why the game had to be called off yesterday.

If as it appears PHE have had an issue with a cluster of infections, then it would make sense. But wouldn't the Wigan team have to self isolate?

Some clarification from the EFL would be nice.
