But Tranmere had to play on Saturday and use youth team players to get their game played v Salford?

This is VERY suspicious & needs a full EFL investigation, parameters being set because this is going to happen regularly. There has got to be penalties otherwise clubs will just call off games when they feel like it!

Lower league testing does sound shambolic (unless individual clubs take charge) so I guess anything is possible. Beckles would have played against us in the original fixture if he'd not had a private test done.

Not at all surprised about this. Its going to keep happening and there is very little chance this season will finish. Clubs will probably go under first!!

Until we know a bit more, perhaps we shouldn't be to hard on Crewe this time. At least they didn't turn up and then anounce they had positives. we'll have to wait and see.

What puzzles me though is their statement saying that they have decided that the match should be postponed. I thought all they could say was that they would be unable to fulfill the fixture, and it was then up to the EFL to decide if it should be postponed, forfeited or voided.

The game on Saturday with them all being in close proximity could have been what caused it to spread like wildfire, especially rushing players like Beckles back after the positive test...
I hope the EFL will now sit up take notice as to what Corona Alexander are doing, turning up 1&1/2 hours before our original game to tell us about the player ( Beckles ) testing positive but turned up to play them during last week after further resting 2 more players tested positive but that’s ok we will play Wigan only to fail to fulfil tonight’s fixture. Something amiss here and Coronavirus Alexander are being less than forthcoming with the truth. A points deduction award is the 3 points and fine the idiots.

Can I have some of what you've taken please?

I've been on a crewe forum.....one person said Wigan had two positives....they.caught it from them
You couldn’t make this up ??? if that is what happened then this season could be over before it gets under way Crewe tried to get round it if and it is a big if Wigan played 2 with the virus then this will set a precedent and the government will say professional footballers can’t be trusted so cancel the league.

With mandated, regular testing run by an outside source and no squad size limits it would have been fairly easy to complete the season.

Keep the 5 subs rule to allow for maximum squad management. Fixtures must be completed as long as you have a minimum of 16 over-18 players. If you don’t and the other team do then the win is awarded to the other team - incentive to keep your squad in a bubble. Doubt we’d see many victories awarded, teams would loan a few decent PL youngsters and pick up some promising prospects from non-league and run with squads of around 30 to make sure they always had players. Outside testing would mean immediate isolation and no way for teams to hide or fake results.

Just the cost of all squads having, say, three tests a week would need to be covered by someone - a drop in the ocean for the PL.

But have they travelled down or are they still in Crewe?
