Can't keep up with all the smartarses on here, and can't listen to the actual interview so not sure what's been said.

Has KR all but confirmed Winnall is our mystery 'good as it gets' player? Has he intimated it's nearly finalised? If so, I really, REALLY hope that means it is essentially already done. Can't think of any benefit whatsoever in declaring it to the world otherwise. Would be an unreal signing though.

The only thing he confirmed was that it wasn't Grigg.

Okay, he looks quality. A real mixed bag of goals. Gets himself in similar positions to Taylor but he appears to be bigger, more physical and a danger in the air. If we pull this signing off, I think even @greatunclekip might crack a smile:
Believe it or not he is actually a centre metre smaller then Taylor

I think his physicality makes him appear bigger. He definitely seems more of a danger, in the air.
If it is Winnall and we keep him fit the possibility of 2 upfront becomes more appealing. Winnall and Taylor both fit in league one should get you a combined 30+ goals.

And then some, if we can provide them with the right amount of service! Would have to be a system that we gradually implement, though. I think our formation is spot on for the way we play and that would be a big change.

In my opinion, we also need a lot more pace out wide if we are to play 442.

Has a decent record though not great since 2017.Historically a good player. A decent signing.

When KR first came in, if I remember correctly he implemented a 4-1-2-1-2 formation which shored up a team that was losing every week and kept us up. I'd love to have some pace in the team, every fan wants a bit of width, but from that I think we can say that KR does know how to get results with two up top and little width if need be.

Why on earth play 4 4 2?
An old fashioned formation. MAPP rarely played 4 4 2 and neither has KR.
4 3 3 and tweaks to that.

He played nothing but 4-4-2, bar his first few months where he was so desperate to play a 4-2-3-1 that he got us into all sorts of bother. Which ironically Robinson also did, albeit he switched out to more of a 4-3-3.

Quite like the look of this team, playing 442. Lots of options in midfield, to compliment the front 2. Food for thought. Still think our current formation is more suited, though.
