Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Not quite a scout but am now working in football recruitment. Will hear bits and bobs!
Well?........we’re waiting. Not being impatient or anything but for crying out loud are we signing someone? ?

it does make me laugh this "we are really going for it this season" as oppossed to what exactly? So when an opportunity was staring us in the face shrewd businessmen would know those opportunities rarely come along very often and that was the time to "Go For it" yet here we are a few months later with little prospect of income and we're back to starting from scratch and these same shrewd businessmen decide now we're going for it.

As for Grigg was going to sign until the last minute, i pointed out at the time it was bullshi* as when all these talks were allegedly being finalised he was having talks with Tranmere along with Charlie Kirk and 1 other.
Wasn’t bull s**t though was it? Phil Parkinson didn’t want him to go to a promotion rival

Welcome to the club Joel, you’re going to enjoy the club especially the fans. Once again Welcome JOEL

if he didn't want him to go to a promotion rival he wouldn't have allowed him to talk to us would he? Even robbo said on the Thursday it wasn't happening

posters were telling us he was about to sign even a few hours before the window closed yet he was at Tranmere

With every Northern Irish player we get the accent gets worse. Whyte was very bareable, Sykesy you can guess 60% of what he says but with Coops think our next big summer signing better be a translator.
Not intending to dampen the optimism around this top signing and I’m sure this was said entirely in jest, but how about welcoming him without the jokes about his accent. I’m not a sensitive soul by any stretch but I’m uneasy about any posts about the Northern Irish lads that makes a joke of their accent.
Couldn’t care less how he or anyone else speaks, welcome Joel to this great football club.

Apart from Taylor have you heard of the club may go back for Grigg as well?
Mind you I wouldn’t be adverse to Jerom Sinclair coming back.

Why? He has 6 goals in 48 career appearances, that’s a Mackie rate of return but without the shithousery.

His stats last season - 23 appearances with no goals - nil, diddlysquat, nothing to see here.

He also chose to go to Holland for less money than we offered him to stay so we don’t owe him anything. We should be expecting more.

Should’ve spent the money on Cadden, who was always guaranteed a profit 12-18 months down the line and would probably have been the difference between automatic promotion and what happened. Outside of Trent he created more big chances than any other RB in the country - he was an enormous loss. I’m glad there is intent this summer, but I hope it isn’t too reactive to missed opportunities / past mistakes. Spending is fantastic, but it needs to be measured and not desperate. I personally don’t want someone like Grigg as I think he’s a busted flush and would be too reactionary a signing, but I guess we’ll see and soon at that.

As an aside, Brentford ballsing up last night cost us about a million quid in lost bonuses. Ideally we would’ve seen them get automatic promotion and Cardiff win the playoffs (Whyte), but hopefully one of them wins through and we see some extra wonga as a result.
It didn’t due to a lack of minutes played - same for Cardiff, no bonuses imminent I’m afraid.

Surely Fosu won’t get a game in the Prem. Was dodgy on his day at this level

Didn't look that good last night to be honest. Mind you Baptiste when he came on lost the ball a lot of the time too. Think championship their level unless they really kick on next season.

there was something that prevented him from signing he seemed to want to come here

He scored 5 here with one wrongly ruled offside, we Seem to have got the best out of him in his career so far so if available and KR brought him here he may get more out of him.
