General Jan transfer window

Does anyone have a list of out of contract strikers as it looks like that's the only option now.

I’ll still go if we are mid table, are you a glory hunter?

No. We have a loyal fanbase which is around 5k, then another 5k that pick and choose which games to go to. Hence the 10k crowds and sell outs. Problem is these only turn up when a big team come or the team are getting the results and playing well. Now it's already been quoted we are making a huge loss each season with just the loyal supporters turning up. The only way we are getting in the black is if these glory hunters become regulars/season ticket holders. Your not going to get them turning up with no ambition. Let's see what happens the rest of the season, but if we end up mid table, selling Dickie, Brannagan in the summer I think alot of even loyal fans will be questioning whether to buy a season ticket.

A lot of people on this forum have been deeply sceptical of Tiger from day one, and I’m one of them. Selling both players on the day before deadline day tells us all very clearly that Tiger and his mates have no interest in the football side of all this. Why on earth sell them now? Wait for just over 12 weeks, then sell one of them to balance the books if we don’t go up. I’m disappointed, but not very surprised. Tiger will cash in on Dickie and Brannigan in the summer, and will bring in a few loanees to paper over the cracks. Wouldn’t blame KR at all if he went.....
You are all expecting too much from Tiger! We are still higher in the football pyramid than we have been for at least 20 years just try to enjoy it! It's all because of bad management this season we have won Too many matches before xmas

I'm not a financial man but I'm suggesting that when the profit and loss is announced covering this season I would not be surprised if it is still a loss! Just remember any bad season can easily be a 2m loss!
Whyte 2.5 million , bap /fosu 3 million + cup runs

You still here?
Yep! And guess what? I'm managing to cope just fine without throwing my dolls out the pram like some on here!!

Even I couldn't say it's been a comfortable few days but we've still got as strong a squad as we've seen in years and a much healthier bank balance. We have definitely received more than the figures being banded around, but I know that most won't believe me. We also made some decent bids for players but can't force them to sign. The idea that Tiger is looking to pocket this cash, walk away or give up on promotion is simply not true. But again, believe what you wish.

We've had some dark dark days at our club, and this is no where near those times. Do we write this season off? Burn season tickets? Storm the boardroom? Don't be wet!!

I'll be there tomorrow, and Tuesday and to the end of the season support our club. And I honestly think that we'll still finish top 6 or better.

If you don't agree, that's your choice. But I ain't going anywhere so crack on with the negative shite. I'll be alone on the positive bus if you want me!!!! ??

I have spoke to burton albion chairman Ben Robinson a couple of tim
That's a bit gloomy. Am pretty sure the stadium meets championship regulatory standards or is very close. Championship football = a guaranteed £7m from the basic award plus solidarity payment (Vs less than £2m in league 1). And all TV games are at least 3 x more valuable with lots more of them too. It's very easy to lose money in the championship if wreckless but also more scope to get into the black if canny. It's very hard to imagine the owners having any motivation to avoid promotion as some on here suggest.

Not Gloomy obviously I want us to make it this season. I live a stonesthrow from burton albion wearing the wrong yellow. I have seen them come from the blue square like us to the dizzy heights of the championship. They have a great chairman who plows everything back in the club they are well run they own their ground they get all the money they had decent cup runs. I have spoken with the chairman a few times Ben Robinson not because I am great My father inlaw does his insurance and sponsors the matchball occasionally and they are freinds. I will be in the directors box for our upcoming game hehe nothing to do with me I clean windows and cut hedges and trees. A few things I gleaned from him Burton had no buisness being in the championship of course he was thrilled being there and plowed everything into being there and staying up. To the detrement of his bank balance if they had stayed up for a third season they would have gone into administration he was honest and said it. They got special dispenstation from the league regards ground improvements that would have put the club into insolvency eg extra policing
a lux requirement on floodlights not only at the stadium but the training ground and any feild the club train on.. Albion kids train at the feild across the road from me and the youth they had to do the lights there and at the stadium cost them a few hundred thousand quid luckily st georges park happened for the main squad so they could train there.. After the third season all seating is required the away end and the main home end is terraces this would have put the club in financial woes if they had had to do it but they got relegated luckily Robison said. not only that things like cctv everywhere and a certified system put in all staff have to have the relevent qualifications at that level from the coaches to the caretaker the press have to have a mandated ammount of screens put it.. Loads of other things. In my opinion Burton financially would be in a similar position to the way oxford are now. Their attendance is less but they get all the money from everything. We don't own our dated ground we don't even have a forth stand the kassam is dates and needs an upgrade their is no way that it would meet the standard.. Who is going to pay for all this is Kassam going to chip in of course not. Other than a flash in the pan like albion we need to be sustainable in the championship or owners willing to pay bigtime.

not for much longer.

Some people you can't please. If we sign players late it becomes 'the club is panic buying', if we sign players early it becomes 'we should be signing more players on deadline day.' We got our business done early this window; whilst Baptiste and Fosu have only gone now, the club will have known for a while that their sale was a possibility and probably planned for it (e.g. signing Browne). Whilst I agree the way these transfers have been conducted is disappointing, we've been unlucky - a few deals have fallen through late - and the club has put offers in for both full backs and strikers, and we've also brought in several players. There's no lack of commitment from the board, so we should be positive. Onwards and upwards!

and an hour before the Jan window shuts, a tweet from OUFC vice Chairman that basically says, wel, nothing at all. Marginally, only marginally better than the lies the board have been peddling IMO
Perhaps they were still trying to get deals through? Who knows, but clearly there is more that meets they eye than a KT esque statement
