Home Match Day Thread +++ 17/02/2018 OUFC v Plymouth Argyle match day thread +++

I Think we will be fine. 3 wins and a draw that’s all that’s needed. Teams below must hit purple patches for us to go down. I can’t see it happening!

We just treading water at the minute, I’m confident we will be a league one side next season.

A possibility but So is staying up. Did u think today was a massive improvement on recent Home form? Did u think there was more fight and sign of a plan?
Can’t believe I changed my username, used to be much bigger
Yes Dave you was one of the "big names " I revered to even though it's shorter now .

I haven’t said we won’t get relegated, I’ve even said I don’t think it would be that much of a disaster if we did. I’ve also never bigged up obika, so the thick as f**k comment better not have been also aimed at me . Panicking about it since xmas isn’t productive and will only lead to loss of hair or a heart attack. I always swing towards positive, things are getting tighter, but do u agree that was far far better today. People have said we don’t have the players or the fight to avoid relegation and that orient was a one off. Today showed that’s not true, Plymouth are the in form team not only in this league but the country and have beat some of the top5 recently. We dominated them for pretty much the whole game. Play like that we will stay up. Lose to Northampton and Wimbledon. And u can buy me a pint as I join u to drown our sorrows [emoji6]

I agree, yes we are poor and struggling but we will get the required points to be playing L1 football next season.

Gino and Obika did well. If Wes had played he might have poked one in from a yard, we lacked that finisher. Still, if we play like that we’ll be fine. Your comment is out of order if you don’t even go to the games

So Gino and obika did well - good but how many goals did they score between them ?

So I'm not allowed an opinion because I wasn't there !

How can you even form an opinion on Gino and Obika today, if you weren’t there?

And as for calling people thick as f**k... do show some respect to your fellow supporters. We are allowed an opinion too... it doesn’t make us thick as f**k though, just because it differs to your own

I'd say it's easier for other people to offer an opinion on the performance of the players if they actually watched them play.

I'd certainly say they've got a right to respond to being called 'Thick as f**k' by someone who wasn't there.

We are sleepwalking to Relegation - & have been for some while now. Although today was "better" any fool can see we need a striker, someone who causes trouble & ruffles feathers - in fact someone like Ryan Taylor-I don't want him before someone jumps down my throat, but that is the position we do not have. Obika is not good enough; can he actually jump off the ground?
The club are handling the manager recruitment thing very poorly from a PR viewpoint - & where actually is DE? He must surely know that most fans just want to hear something from him - something, anything.
"Freefall" is a good description & playing sweet sounds on a fiddle whilst Rome burns is unbelievable. "Too good to go down" - I don't think so.

I have made my opinion on Gino and Obika over the season so far , I apologise for " thick as f**k " comment .

This shouldn’t be an argument about who was there and who wasn’t - yes the performance was better today but we lost again. My gripe is with the total lack of leadership at the club. I suppose I’d convinced myself that there would be a big unveiling of a new manager, maybe even a new owner. But nothing forthcoming, zilch. Nobody knows anything, not even RO. And Faz indicated that DE has told him it’ll be business as usual for him. I’m feeling totally frustrated, we need points on the board, better performances aren’t enough. Who’s to say it’s the start of a continued run of better performances anyway? Charlton was a great performance but we’re just so inconsistent. The whole club needs to be grabbed by the balls and given an almighty shake up before it’s too late. This is starting to feel like 2006 all over again

So because we're in bad form you'd just want us to sell to anybody because inevitably a regime change will bring about an upturn in performance.

How would Sartori have turned it all around?
Sartori set his objectives out.... Eales has gone very quiet.... I never said it would change things..... But since Appleton things have gone down big style.... And we are in free fall..... Eales needs to stand tall or ship out.....

You need to score goals to win games and we are not scoring goals. We need a goal scorer a manager and a lot of luck to get out the mess were in.

OUFCX

I’ve been saying that quite a bit but I’m told we’re one of the highest goal scorers in the league when I checked we were 10th but we need strikers, come the summer clear out the 4 strikers we have and bring in something a damn site better.
Although I did think Gino did pretty well when he came on but not 800k’s worth.
