I get the impression he is making a dig at Ricky and Samir, in particular. Ill be honest, I dont particularly like Wilder as a person. Good manager, comes across as a t**t.
It crossed my mind whether we’ve enquired about Clarke. Wilder said if he was a couple of the players he’d be gone already so clubs have made bids/enquires but the players are digging their heals in for more money.

Apologies if already posted. Wilder desperate to get a few players (including familiar faces) off the books and says they need to drop down to league 1 to kickstart their careers. Leon Clarke included.

If the boot was on the other foot and one of the young Sheffield United players wanted to progress at the end of the season would Mr Wilder tear up their contracts and let them go for free because it was a ‘football based decision’?!?!

It reminds me of the Rodwell saga at Sunderland, they were silly enough to sign him on a 5 year deal but then just expect him to cancel his contract because it didn’t go as the board thought it was going to!

100% right - he brought these guys in and was happy to do so - several injury prone so why would they spunk away say 50% of wages he gave them to go to League 1 or 2 - you gave them the contracts mate you live with it - clearly a good manager but a nasty spiteful s**t too

It’s not even “more money” though, is it..? It’s what they’re contractually entitled to, and no doubt what Wilder himself agreed to pay them.

Holmes himself is a prime example of what a short career it can be, and there is often no warning of enforced medical retirement. No way Holmes can be blamed for seeing out his contract if another one elsewhere isn’t guaranteed. No doubt about it, Wilder’s an A-grade A*****e.

Honestly, listening to Wilder in the press and seeing exerts like this makes me appreciate not only how refreshing KR is but also, how much of a w****r Wilder is, in comparison. I dont care what he did with us, his behaviour since then has put me right off of him. You gave them the contracts, deal with it.

If I was Ricky or Samir, id milk him and the club dry.

So, now weve discussed Sheff U at length, has the Taylor deal moved forward at all?

Taylor deal I expect is going to be hard because it’s exactly like these Sheffield players will have to do. He’ll likely take a pay cut to come here and play or it’ll be a loan.

Does anyone ITK know who the pacy winger KR wants is?

Gboly Ariyibi was in our sights, but haven't heard anything for the last couple of weeks. Apparently Motherwell were interested in taking him on a permanent deal paying £3k a week but he is on more than double that at Forest. So it's likely that we would prefer to do a loan deal but Forest would like him gone.

Although Wilder is getting a bit of grief for being so vocal about it, he is only talking about the same situation that many clubs face. There is a demand to tie players on to very longer and lucrative contracts but you then have problems moving them on. Imagine Hanson not even on the bench for the next 3 years or Ivo getting 2 years pay for one friendly. It goes both ways unfortunately.

Couldn't agree more (y)(y)(y)

perhaps Forest will flog him to a mls club and we can then get him on loan!!

?? Could today be the day?

Hope if we get Taylor it will be on a permanent deal, we seriously need a decent striker AKA Beano/Matt Green who we can call our own, will help stop this merry go round every season, don’t get me wrong the loan system can work well to a point but we need to push the boat out on this within reason, successful teams put more
bums on seats.
