Ox Mail saying that that's it before this weekend. Expecting 3 more this month.

I have to say, to not have a striker signed is pretty frustrating.

To be fair Mackie should be able to play some games else their is no point him being here. It’s an annoyance not to have bought a forward in but we should be able to make do for a few weeks.

3 more is interesting though? Two strikers I reckon, that is where we are lightest obviously, I would go for another defender but with how Robinson is I will say attacking midfielder, he does love them.

Brilliant signing. When was the last time we had a proper left sided centre half? Love that he was captaining the side in Belgium too, always good to have leaders in the team. And three years is a great long deal. Very exciting.

If he wasn't such an injury risk, I'd be more relaxed. Hopefully, who ever they have their eye on can be secured well before the end of the window.

Well the last 48 hours have been bloody brilliant.
Well done KR and the board.
Now let’s push for a striker.
With the quality signed it will make it a lot easier to persuade a player to come in.

Which would mean below £2m before add ons , eg 20% sell on which aren’t guaranteed, are included.
Sorry, I just don’t get the point of this type of post.
I know OUFC is “our” club, BUT GW did not belong to “our” fans.
I too would have liked him for another season, after which he would no doubt have been sold for “X”
The powers that be,sold there player for terms and a fee they deem to be acceptable.
Only time will tell if this and the other close season decisions prove to be in the true interests of “our” club.
End of.

I think your post is about as bizarre an argument as I could imagine.

What a difference 48 hours makes eh?!

I'll admit, having spent most of the transfer window being as patient, level headed and pragmatic as I could, during the last couple of weeks, with the way we were seemingly missing out on signings, selling our most valuable asset on the cheap, the manager looking so fed up, I genuinely feared he might quit, and a board making no effort to communicate anything with the fanbase, I well and truly fell from my pragmatic perch into a swamp of negativity, doom and gloom, and panic, and was really beginning to fear, as we headed into the final few days before the start of the season, that we were going to struggle to put together an effective first XI, let alone an entire, competitive squad, and really feared we may be battling relegation all season, on the way to falling into a black hole down through the leagues, all at the hands of our useless unsupportive board, and I was sharpening my pitchfork, in preparation to charge the boardroom at the end of the season!

However, I now HAPPILY admit I was VERY wrong, and I claim my slice of humble pie!

Yes, the board could've been better with their general communication with the fans, and that could've eased a lot of the concern, negativity and then inevitable panic that has engulfed a large percentage of the fanbase (myself included) but thankfully, they've come good, and provided KR with the support and backing that he needed to get some very good deals over the line.

In the last 48 hours, we've signed Moore, Forde, and Woodburn on a season long loan, all great signings, (with 3 more apparently still to come) whilst also tying Dickie down to a new contract, and more importantly, tying KR himself down to a new 3 year contract, which is excellent, and for that, we should be very grateful.

After such a bleak several weeks, this is all great, positive news, and I now go into the new season with renewed hope and optimism that we can really make a push for the playoffs, and have the exciting season we all hoped we would have.

Earlier in this thread, in one of my earliest posts, (when I still had use of the pragmatic part of my brain!) I said how I felt the team was nearly there, and with a few quality signings in the obvious positions, I felt we could have a real good go this season, then everything seemingly started going horribly wrong, and we entered the last week before the start of the season in a right mess, and I (and others) had a bit of a breakdown, and I was dreading the trip to Sunderland.

However, like I said before, in hindsight, I was wrong, and thankfully I'm now back to feeling that we really CAN have a real good go this season,
and I now cannot wait until 15:00 on Saturday!

Come on you yellows!
