One final point, I appreciate that my posts are getting longer and longer and a little preachy so I'll give it a rest for a while!!! I'm off to polish the new fleet of positive buses for the season until the next wave of Klaxons!!!

Let’s just hope those buses are good for the journey home unlike the first game against Barnsley last season when it was obvious that they weren’t good enough and had panicked purchase a bunch of crocks.

Feels a bit different this season, but we’ve still got potential issues injury wise with Hall, Baptiste, Mackie and the new potential signing that’s only played a handful of games in 5 seasons!

ECyellow - in your role as the threads soothsayer, the oracle/shamen upon which transfers are pre-announced, tell us of any news.... Should you need a ritual sacrifice to get the gods of the klaxon looking favourably upon us then just say and thine bidding shall be done.....

Thorne is done and will be announced today I believe

Sorry if this is a bit off tangent, but we seem to have cover for most positions now (striker immanent hopefully) but the left back area still bothers me. If Ruffels gets injured or suspended we really are short in that area. Not sure that Sam Long could play there or not so I think that's another area we should be looking at. Don't know who is available out there to look at.

Berkoe?

Stadium.

Catering.

Kassam.

Supposed billionaire board.

Charlie Methven.

The EFL.

The Premier League.

Wycombe not being rivals.

Letting Jack Midson go.

...we'll be fine.

Problem solved... KR, get on the phone to Concord Rangers!

Tyler Walker off to Lincoln ?
Good player. L2 team of the season last year i think? Starting to think Lincoln could mean real business this year. That said, if they start well, surely they won't be able to keep the Cowleys for much longer. Could see them being off to a Championship side in ~October, when sacking season begins.

Marquis has joined Pompey.

I think he's the one Robinson alluded to last night that got away from us.

Shame, he'd have been a great signing.

No chance. They paid £2m for him.

Agreed. Is far as I'm aware we were never in the hunt for Marquis, far too rich for us.

As @ECYellow says, Moore and Thorpe should be announced later today, both are at the club as we speak. Although the deals need to be approved before 5pm to play Saturday, I wouldn't be surprised to see their arrivals staggered around 5/6pm with the klaxon.

The player flying in yesterday was a striker by all accounts. I don't know who for sure, but Dan Agyei is the name that keeps coming back as being at the top of our list. I would guess that we might be cutting things fine to get him in today, but as with Forde yesterday these things can sometimes come around quicker than expected.

This is a major log-jam for our midfield; which is not necessarily the worst of all problems to have, but leaves Hanson and potentially Henry a wee bit down the pecking order.

I sincerely hope this doesn't mean a loan spell away from the Kass for Baptiste when he's fit, as I truly believe he's the jewel in our crown.

The awkward thing with Baptiste is him getting game time away until Jan may be better for him in the long term than waiting for a go with us and getting an old 20 mins here or there.

Ec is kr and I claim my £2.50 with add ons

No, no, I more imagine him as an old mystic

I’d hope Baptiste will be starting tbh. He’s got so much energy, if he stays at the same level he will be hard to leave out. Over the last few years, especially at home, I’ve seen midfielders aplenty who can knock the ball around and sideways a bit, but players who can drive forward and run past a man are rare and open up teams

Certainly don’t foresee that happening.
