Also think we need to keep Whyte on the wing and bring in another striker in addition to Sinclair.

Genuinely interested what evidence/back-up information people would like, the 'ITK' people who are posting about players not signing, to say to give some credence to their claims? Would something along the lines of 'I've been told by employee X in the club shop that we're signing Lloyd Owusu but please it can't come out because employee X would get sacked'. Is that what we're asking for?

The irony of demanding people to provide some factual evidence to satisfy the doubters on a a thread that's designed to talk about rumours and player 2019 transfers is quite humorous.

FWIW, I doubt Cadden or Wilson will end up signing. I would love the club to do those two deals because the calibre of such players is pretty impressive.

I think something as vague as ‘someone who works for the club’ or something similar would suffice. I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t mean that much and ultimately with any rumour we’ll all eventually find out how it plays out, but I think the response of ITKers to people asking for at least some vague shred of evidence shouldn’t be ‘stop having a go at me’.

Unfortunately this summer is following the same pattern as last year.If what EC says is true and I am inclined to believe him there is a problem at the club. This certainly is not a criticism of KR however at what point do we discuss salary with a player?
What is the point of agreeing terms with Motherwell or any club for that matter if the player or his agent isn’t 100 per cent sure he likes what we offer.
This seems to have happened too many times in the last year.

The trouble being is that exactly what about will do.

We could have a deal agreed with club and player. As far as were concerned a virtually done deal.
But the agent will say, lets sit on it a bit and see what happens, if we don’t get a better offer elsewhere we got a good deal at a good club to fall back on. Maybe we are to nice in leaving these deals open ended for too long.

I would venture that we are not these players no 1 place that they want to be playing and we are being somewhat used to test the water and see who else bites ! Its funny that the Scottish Sun seems to be exposing these links !

Transfer situations are exceptionally fluid, one minute you can be getting a handshake and assurances the deals will go through, the next they're doing a photoshot on some other pitch holding some other shirt!

It's our local club, and therefore many people may know so one who works there, or at the hotel/bowlplex etc who see/hear something. But even then, others read what they want into. Player X is going away to think about the offer could be it's obviously a done deal or proof it'll never happen!! That's what rumours are about, and it would be boring if it was any other way.

The one thing I would say, and you can believe me or not, is that we have upped our game from last year. The calibre of those being looked at is higher, we can compete financially with many teams at this level and (on the whole) much of the work is being done professionally behind the scenes. Still no guarantees, but I genuinely think that the vast majority will be pretty happy with the squad at the end of August.

Is it too much to ask for posters to provide a link or source to substantiate what they're saying? We can all sit here and throw names about but after a while, it's a bit 'boy who cried wolf'.

I enjoy this thread and I really enjoy the transfer windows, just think its weird that posters throw rumours around with nothing to back it up.

I think you make a fair point, and that is coming from someone who doesn't like the "ITK" style posts.
Clearly this is an area that a lot of us disagree on, and I think it may stem from what different people may deem "quality" information. Personally I would never share anything, unless I could adequately source it, and and am extremely sceptical of others posting rumours without a source.
Saying that, you are right, this is a rumours thread, and by definition the threshold for justifying information is low. Otherwise it would be a facts and not rumours thread! So perhaps those of us who do give the "ITK" posters a hard time are being unfair.

On the flip side, perhaps the ITK posters need to be a little less defensive if they are questioned about their rumours and we might all get along better.

The problem with the transfer window is a PR one. When MApp was here there was a list of players for each position, however when we made a signing we had no idea if said player top of the list or name 4/5. We know who KR has towards the top of his lists, but we shouldn't. If the club suspects leaks from their end then I really think they need to start telling staff different things and if any of those things make it to the press or social media the club need to deal with the members of staff responsible.
