There seems to be a lot of 'get rid of x, get rid of y'. It's not like we have a surplus of players or a surplus of money, so why are things like getting rid of Mous or Henry even being touted? It makes no sense at all when the club are looking to build a SQUAD for next season.

And it's out:

No surprises, keeping majority of squad together. I'm happy with that.

Not really....half the 1st choice starting XI were loanees. If we keep 2 or 3 loanees up our sleeve for the Jan window then we need to sign either on permanent deals or on loan....

1 CB if Curtis stays, 2 if he doesn't
Cover at full back for Josh & Sam
Midfield general as completion for Mous
At least one wide player, 2 if Rob Hall doesn't sign
At least one forward

Kelleher has been released too. Probably wouldn't have been signed if it wasn't for the turmoil from MAPP leaving.

No real surprises. Shearer going saves a wage, Stevens can be back up keeper. No mention of Agboola though? Kelleher and Raglan should both get League 2 clubs this summer. Jonte Smith turns into a bit of an odd signing but it became clear Robbo wasn’t impressed in training. Jon Obika i expect will rock up at a League 2 club also.

I wasnt talking about our lack of squad depth, I was talking about those leaving the club.

Stevens sitting on the bench all season is a bad idea. He needs to play so that he is ready to step in (permanently, not just for the odd game here or there) when Eastwood leaves. Would be very surprised if we don't sign an experienced back up keeper coming to the end of their career. I hear there might be one going down the A420.....

I’m not sure raglan got a fair deal with Robinson but hey ho that’s life as ol blue eyes use to sing to me

He can still play U23 games which at least keeps him fit and gives him game time.
So I reckon that having Stevens as back up makes sense.
The trouble is what experienced keeper is going to sit on the bench for a Division 3 team all season? Somebody like Shearer.

KR saw him train every day and he played in the Checkatrade trophy in a game?
If he didnt think he was good enough then fair enough. Looks like Raglan is going to a bottom half of League 2 team which says a lot?

I don't know how much truth there is in rumors about Easty leaving, but I'm glad we're hanging on to Stevens - I was mightily impressed when he covered for Eastwood's red card.

Presumably Raglan and Kellaher will return to where they have been this season - Raglan has expressed his wish to do so, and I would imagine that having Campbell as boss will be beneficial to a young centre back.
I think keeping Stevens as #2 is a decent idea - he's shown he can step in for a game or two where necessary (small injury or suspension for Eastwood) so no need to waste a wage bringing in someone more experienced to do the same. Give him regular U23 outings and perhaps put him in all of the cup games (certainly Checkatrade and early League cup rounds maybe), to give him games at a senior level and then go from there.
I'm forming the impression that Manny Agboola does not actually exist and is just a figment of our imaginations.....
I wonder whether we will try to add any extra faces into the U23s or just go with the players we have currently (5 O18s on pro deals, 3/4 U18s on pro deals + other U18s + seniors in need of a game)?

Have I missed something? I thought Shandon Baptiste was also out of contract this year. Has he already left?
