Doesn't sound good for Hall.

This is one Appleton punt that just didn't seem to work. Shame as a great player, but maybe he has never fully recovered from his knee injury when we signed him.

Shame, maybe we should cut our losses on him?

Thats not meaning to sound harsh as he is a game changer

If he is on a low enough wage (which I suspect he is) then I still want him. When he can play he can make the difference to a game like few of our players can. Reminds me of Ledley King's career; worth keeping in the squad despite reoccurring and chronic injuries just for when it does work

Agreed ..... his winner at the skip last time we played and beat Scum certainly made the difference:)

As much as I like Hall, he has scored a few great goals, notably against the scum, but he’s often knocked off the ball in games, he’s had more poor games than good.
We need to think about him as a bit part player, when fit, not a starter but to come on with 20 to 30 mins

Well, he's under contract so we can't 'cut our losses on him'. But you have to wonder if his career will last much longer.
Absolutely phenomenal when on loan first time round and gave the club a real lift. Really disappointed when he returned to his parent club. Do hope a specialist can get to the root cause. Have to say it did look ominous that he could not get fit over the summer. Far too young to hang up his boots. Ever hopeful, however, but should never have started against Fleetwood and was clearly yards off the pace.

You can only fix a knee a finite number of times before the specialist gives you the choice between one more OP or the ability to walk when you have grandkids.

I do fear the worst, unfortunately...
I fear the same. The fact his knee just swelled up is concerning - the club have really limited his pre-season, but it's not worked in terms of his issues.

Sure I remember reading at the end of last season that he said he would be staying as he owed it to the club and supporters.

Remember at the time there were quite a few lengthy discussions about his injury from those of us that had experienced one or multiple similar ones.

My thoughts at the time were that he’d not be able to play and it was a bit too much of a risk due to the recurring nature/weakness.

To be fair he actually played more than I expected so fair play. I hope whatever happens he has some form of career in football because he’s always come across very well.

Modern-day cruciate ligament grafts aren’t “weak” per se; if it’s a hamstrings tendon graft, already a tendon of a good thickness which is then doubled and doubled again, then bored through the bone to replace the torn ligament.

Don’t get me wrong, it can both re-rupture and be complicated in other ways; but with a decent rehab program Robbie could reasonably have expected to have been effectively cured. There is no need to wrap people in cotton wool post-ACL reconstruction.

I agree it don’t look good right now but my point; the lad’s been bloody unlucky.

Personally i'd terminate his contract. he'll never get back to full fitness now, we cant keep relying on players to come back from injury. great lad but his career has never got going due to injury. feel for the lad
