Reinfections have been rising sharply with Omicron, and they've now been added to official daily data.

• In the week ending 21 January 2022 (Week 3), 12,776 deaths were registered in England and Wales; this was 535 fewer deaths than the previous week (Week 2) and 8.6% below the five-year average (1,203 fewer deaths).

Well done for being in the trial, why wasn’t the J&J rolled out in the UK? Also I assume you had the Pfizer/Moderna booster as normal?

Its being trialed as a single shot on my arm of the study, some participants had two, although I also had a Pfizer booster (don`t ask!!).

The UK bought circa 20 million doses but has given most of them to Covax to distribute in other countries where logistics make it difficult to double or triple jab people.

It would be perfectly valid to suggest, excluding covid, fewer people are dying.

Of course folk wearing masks, better hygiene, isolation and other Covid mitigation factors are contributing to that reduction .....

I quoted Nadine Dorries saying the war on covid had been won and pointed out the current death rate to show she's taking s**t (again).

Now unless you are saying the death rate is hugely overstated I don't know what point you're trying to make in response to Dorries's quote and the current death rate.

Couldn’t read the Tory graph article, but if it’s the same as this one, isn’t it missing the point of lockdowns a bit? It’s not all about reducing covid fatalities, but about flattening the curve so that the health system isn’t flooded resulting in more deaths from other acute emergencies.
I’ll try and find time to go through the underlying data, but at first glance this looks like an ideology-led analysis.

Good good but in true parliament style i would be interested if you have any insitght into the actual question - why wasnt J&J rolled out? No problem if you dont just good to know
