International News Covid-19 .....

He sounds like a squirming little toad. I reckon BJ has put him up there to hash it up so that he gets hounded out by the press and more of his party
That being the case...how on earth does Bojo row back from his appalling lack of judgement on display here?

He has royally screwed this up, not that anyone should be surprised. The Spaffmeister has plenty of form when it comes to making dreadful judgement calls.

"Cummins must answer!!" They froth.

Cummins answers.

"Those aren`t the answers we wanted!!" They froth some more.

There is more froth than on a Costa Barista`s apron.

Sun`s out, off to potter around the garden.

Sorry that is just silly. He didn't 'answer' he just repeated that he used his judgement (via some pretty liberal interpretation of the guidelines) to do something that 99.99% of the country thought they weren't allowed to do. Oh, and he confirmed he wanted to go for a half hour drive, a park up for a bit of a wander about by a river and another half hour drive back to 'test his eyesight'. On his wife's birthday. Lol.

An apology at all? Even a Patel-type 'I am sorry if people think that...' apology? Nope. Sheer arrogance.

Personally I don't actually care if he is sacked - I am sure he'd just be on the other end of the telephone anyway. What today (and the PMs bumbling car crash of a press conference yesterday) showed was how central this un-elected spin doctor / strategist is to the current government and how scared they seem to be of him going. Anyone would think they haven't an idea of their own in their collective heads...

Sack him or keep him - whatever. Just bloody concentrate on the job in hand, stop giving mixed messages, show a bit of proper leadership (rather than only appearing when you have to defend your Svengali) and stop making policy up on the hoof - this has already cost far too many lives.

And even if Cummings is being hung out to dry...I still reckon he knows where plenty of the bodies are buried. I really can't see him taking it lying down for one minute.

Surprised nobody has picked up on the fact that he said his covid-positive wife went into a hospital with their child. Especially since they only went up to Durham in case an emergency took place which required family assistance. Sounds like they found such an emergency. Did she tell them when she walked into the hospital that she had covid?

Luckily for him and his mates, enough of the country is gullible.

I didn't think either were tested? Where is it stated that his wife was covid positive?

The son was tested and not positive, neither this chap nor his wife were. Is what he said - although he did also say that he thought both he and his wife had had it.

His son was tested in hospital, after his wife who was apparently so ill that they had to drive to Durham to be near family, had walked into a hospital with him. Therefore it’s very reasonable to say that someone with suspected covid walked into a hospital 260 miles from their home, despite the fact that they were only there in case they needed help with said child. If she had told them that she thought she had it, I find it very hard to believe that they would not have tested her either. And if they didn’t test her despite her saying that, it’s incredibly unlikely that they’d just let her sit around spreading the thing inside the hospital.

The entire thing is a house of cards.

Some morons will and have done it. You only have to listen to the last hour to know that.

I've been sitting in the garden. Had enough of these clowns.

But, and it will cost lives, you are right. Which is why I've been sitting in the garden......

even given his very liberal interpretation of the stay at home mandate at the time, and parking that bit of spin albeit temporarily

driving when unfit ( eveysight and illness),is motoring offence, driving without due care and attention, possibly dangerous driving too to which he has admitted his guilt. Charge him, endorse his license and fine him

Secondly, at the time of the offence, 1 hour exersise daily was all that was permitted, the 3 of them spent an hour (by his own admission) going to & from Barnards Gate, then, instead of excersising, by his own admission the trio sat on a riverbank, not excersing, ordinary people all over the UK have had £60 fines for 'sitting' in public instead of excersing. Fine them

Additionally they also did similar by pulling over and venturing into woodlands , not to exersise, but to empty their bladders or bowels, or both! We're no longer in the EU ( thanks partially to Cummings!) and we certainly are not French (where using the roadside as a toilet is permissable apparently), exposing themselves in public and carrying out bodily functions are offences under English and Welsh law. Hes admitted guilt on that offence too. Charge and fine them for those offences committed too

That way at least some semblance of parity in law would be seen to be seen to be applied

A lot of barrel scrapping there!

the law is supposed to apply to all - even Cummings
Driving whilst unfit to do so it subjective, and it was evident that he felt he was OK, stopped when feeling unwell and continued his journey when it was safe to do so. No offence.

Exercise for 1 hour was the suggested time in the open air. He did not spend longer than this by his statement. He stopped because he was unwell, and to allow his child to urinate one would assume. Neither of these would warrant any charges under covid offence.

Allowing a young child to urinate in a secluded place is a million miles away from exposure in public. Not only is that not an offence it is also childish to suggest otherwise.

So on the 3 charges you have put forward, none would warrant any offences being laid and therefore he has been treated absolutely the same as everyone else.

Not disagreeing at all - I just thought it was worth clarifying exactly what he said.

You are allowed to be of any political view point and see that the offences suggested would not apply to a single person in this country.

Unless you think allowing a young child to urinate in an isolated place in the open air is an offence?

Well done that founding member of The Gang of Four.

Absolute madness from the press at today’s briefing. Wasting questions about Cummings when the PM has just announced shops and markets re opening, hopefully people’s jobs being saved and kick starting the economy.
