New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I don't have a candidate to vote for in these local elections.

Not all councillors will have a vote on this only those on the planning committee. If they vote against the recommendation from planning officers and have been seen to be vocally against the stadium then it is an easier route for the club to go to appeal where it will be overturned.
Possibly, but it’s a delaying tactic. We want the planning officers to submit a recommendation to approve the plans and the planning committee to agree. What we don’t want is to see a number of changes on the planning committee that are LibDems and Green councillors replacing pro stadium councillors.

Not why, where. I can’t find them on any lists of candidates. Probably looking in the wrong place though.
Can I respectfully call you out as an anti club and stadium poster based on your complete lack of knowledge and the fact you only joined a few months ago. No supporter who has the club at their heart would post replies like you have.

Interesting point about the Police commissioner, that person will have a lot of influence over football operations so again we need to vote tactically 👍

Green candidates
Kidlington West - Amanda Maguire (proposed by Middleton and Mawson)
Kidlington East - Linda Ward
Bicester North - Victoria Campbell
Bicester West - Trevor Campbell
Banbury Ruscote - Julie Middleton

Another attempt at the Green Party Trojan Horse to get Kidlington residents onto Cherwell simply to stop the stadium and rob people of effective representation.

In fairness, they joined a year ago and posts about games more than about the stadium, where as you joined a few weeks ago and have only contributed to this thread.

I would respectfully suggest that you are both Oxford United fans but some are more informed than others.

Who should we vote for to try and stop the Lib Dem candidate getting in though?

What is with these opposition groups having such misleading names?

"Friends of Stratfield Brake" - they have done the sum of zero to help Stratfield Brake.

"Progressive Oxfordshire Alliance" - want to stop all progress in the county.
It's like "democratic people's republic of Korea"

You can, and I very much appreciate the cordial response, but - equally respectfully - you’d be wrong.

Look, I’m being a bit of a dick here (ok, a complete dick!) at the moment because I genuinely can’t see - beyond the kind of objections you’d 100% expect from Levy and Gant as local (ish) councillors - what the LDs *as a whole* have done to make people think the group is against the stadium.

Politics is sh!te.

Local v regional v national, etc. Of course Gant is going to object; he’s the local Cllr for one if the areas with the people most likely to be against it. If he doesn’t object, he’s never getting elected again, and the LDs lose a seat.

But much like Victoria Prentis, my MP in Bicester, will campaign for local issues whilst simultaneously *knowing* whatever it is will close because of cuts *her* Government are making, so uber local councillors will be allowed by their parties to object to uber local ‘stuff’ because it keeps the cllr a seat on whatever council they’re on, and keeps the party a seat. It’s dirty, it’s immoral, but it happens. That doesn’t mean that the regional party, OCC Lib Dems as a group, etc. are against whatever it is that the councillor is objecting to.

All I’ve seen is the Conservatives and Labour sniping from the sidelines about how easy it should be. So they want a lease and stadium with *no* conditions attached? So that the owners could sell the stadium from under us? So that (some of) the residents’ of Kidlington’s worst fears come to fruition, and the roads are gridlocked every other weekend?

This is a massive, massive project - it’s not putting up a garden shed. OCC are doing their due diligence to make sure their decisions don’t back fire on them.

I think some of the emotion need to be taken out of this because as I’ve said prevoulsy, whoever is in charge of CDC have to follow the planing guidelines as laid out by Government. If our application meets them, it’ll be approved.

But we need to make sure the club is focussed on meeting the conditions that were laid down in September 2023 by OCC so that OCC have no excuses for not cracking on with us.

Apologies to anyone whose heart rate I sent through the ceiling - it was probably the wrong to do what I was trying to do.

PS I genuinely can’t find where McIvor is standing as Green 😉

From the begin of this thread you 3 have all stated that you will not respond to OCC. Would you care to explain that?
A lot of people are wondering if you really are Oxford fans?

@BristolOx , @Orkney Islands Yellow , @West Oxon U’s , @essexdave , @CrowOx , @billyturleyscurlywurly

And the same request goes to the members named above who promised to write to OCC later but have apparently not done so. Why?

Apologies, I forgot to update my response. It went in.

Mmm, whilst we all* want the stadium to be approved I'm not sure that individuals need to justify themselves to you (or us) if for some reason they haven't filled in the OCC document.

* I hope!

Thanks. The post I was replying to made me think she was standing herself, and some of the replies to my post seem to think she is as well, by the looks of it. Important that people aren’t misled.

The stadium project was kick started after the council vote last September.
So why this post and why now on the last day of the consultation?
You clearly have not being following events .
Or
Are you Ian Middleton or Steve Hill and being deliberately mischievous ?
