New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

The leaflet is I feel misleading as it gives the impression that the Oxford Road will be closed on match days. This is misleading as there will be a possibility of time limited redirecting of some traffic along frieze way.
And only on some match days, not all match days as that leaflet suggests.

She is probably reluctant also to have any involvement in the demise of a great football club.

Exactly. Every MP, regardless of the colour of their rosette, will sit on the fence or tentatively support the club in question.

It's political suicide to be seen to be the one putting the nails in the coffin.

Out of pure curiosity, I would like to hear her personal opinion on the stadium.

I'm pretty sure we know what Miller's is..

Our once neutral little green friend tried to do that, but his gob was way too big for him to carry on that charade

Interesting piece in FoSBs recent newsletter regarding elections. Strange to out the Lib Dems as friends of the stadium when we they appear to be in bed with FoSB on so much! I wonder if FoSB are trying to push their supporters towards the local Green candidate that they have absolutely no links to and definitely isn't stoking up opposition for the stadium as some political power grab?

That is odd, because Miller has been featured on the Facebook page of another McIvor led crusade against progress (LandBehindTheMoors if you're curious)

The LibDems also indicated that they are against houses being built in CDC area for the city in the leaflet.

Despite Middleton’s claim to be ‘cautiously neutral’, we and those that take an interest in the matter know that is simply a lie, we all know he’s anti stadium.

The new Bicester and Woodstock constituency is likely to be fought primarily between the Conservatives and the LibDems, so they have the most to win or lose. Don’t expect either party to nail their colours to the mast when it comes to the stadium. They’ll both be getting splinters from fence sitting, but give encouraging noises depending on who their audience is. They’ll eventually go whichever way the wind blows.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Labour came out and said they were pro stadium. Anneliese Dodds the Labour MP for East Oxford has already come out in support.

What you can be sure of is that if and when the stadium gets built, politicians from all sides will be claiming it was they that held the club to task whilst making sure they get their photo taken at the stadium on grand opening day wearing an OUFC scarf.

Labour are in with more than a shout in the new constituency IMO - the stadium going ahead could be a factor in who gets elected there- there's a fair amount of OUFC supporters in Kidlington, Woodstock and Bicester ( and their family members)
