If you actually think I don't want the football club I love to win, you're mistaken.

Performance today was woeful, that's just the truth. Cheltenham were dismal. We sat back and invited pressure (as per usual) before the players seemingly abandoned any game plan and went for it.

We have been very, very poor under Des despite having some very good players.

The idea anyone on here royal standard, kip etc doesn't want us to win is plain stupid. We have a very, very competitive budget and some good players, the performances aren't good enough.
Sat back? 16 shots on goal, 8 were on target.
Invited Cheltenham on? We had 55% possession. Almost 100 passes more than them.

The performance wasnโ€™t amazing but it certainly wasnโ€™t as bad as you are making it out to be.

Did your eyes not tell you what you need to know? I don't think the stats really back you up.

55% possession at home to relegation fodder hardly proves domination.

For the budget and players we have the expectations fans have should be higher. I still don't know what Des wants to do with this team.

We were good 5 mins end of first half and 10 end of second half. 15 minutes out of 90 good enough to beat relegation sides but not the good sides.

I win ,9 games left ,5 more or 6 more wins ,can we do it ?

Great 3 points today, superb Murphy goal and Owen Dale take a bow, one of the best pieces of wing play Iโ€™ve seen in a long while for the goal, and a cracking header from Leigh.

That aside we were woeful I thought. I know we say people see games differently but I thought we were devoid of ideas, tactics and any system. Cheltenham were awful and we made them look half decent.

Delighted we got the win though.

Stevens and McGuane both did little today to convince me they should be starters, albeit appreciate we have limited options in those positions.

Cumming is somehow the second coming of Eastwood when it comes to distribution. Not sure he found anyone he aimed for when he lifted it off the deck.

Hate thinking this so early and without a run of games/starts, but can't shifting thinking Goodwin is a potential lemon. So hoping he proves me wrong.

Yeah my eyes told me that there was a 15 minute lull mid way through the 1st half and we started slowly in the 2nd half only to then control the game and absolutely battered them for the last 15 minutes.

Not bad for a team playing against a side who were time wasting after 15 minutes, kicking our players left right and centre and just stuck 10 men behind the ball.

You really think a team fighting for survival is just going to come here and roll over for us?

Very concerned with Mcguane he spends most of the game looking back and passing back ,where has the athletic player gone .Cam always trys ,but we are very vunerable in the middle. Alot of good but it's going to be tough at Bolton .Would love a draw.

cant someone other than CB take corners? FKs fair enough, but of late his corners ain't great
Leigh should have scored from one of the corners just before he actually did.

Itโ€™s a very small % of goals actually come from corners given how many there are in a game. Yet fans still get really excited about getting one.

I really didn't think we were that terrible today. Did enough to deserve the win, for sure. Cheltenham keep the ball in the air and are very physical in second ball challenges, which makes it hard to get any flow going. Not at our free-flowing best, but definitely not "terrible" either.
Agree with that. Despite their physical dominance, they couldnโ€™t make it count and, overall, we handled it well and had enough determination and quality to get a win.

From Buckingham as reported in the Mail

โ€œThey play five at the back, and near enough four in midfield, and make it very difficult for you to get in their half and create anything in the final third.

โ€œSometimes you have to be patient and do things a little bit quicker, and itโ€™s not as free-flowing as the Portsmouth game, where theyโ€™re a little more open because they want to come out and attack you.

โ€œYou have to be patient at times, and I think we showed that, and maybe there are a couple of things we shouldโ€™ve done better.

โ€œI thought in the last 10 or 15 minutes in the first half, we came good, and in the second half, we were in control, and started to sit a little bit too deep for my liking as the game progressed, but then we got a deserved winner towards the end.โ€

Leighโ€™s winner came following tenacious work from wide man Dale, who got to the right-hand byline and dinked a cross to the back post, where Leigh nodded in.

So you didnโ€™t notice the way we are trying to get the ball out wide, run at full backs, get crosses in?
That is direction.
Problem was we werenโ€™t doing anything with it when we did, until they scored we didnโ€™t perform anywhere near like we did last week, but what bugs me and many others they score and then we play like we should and score a good goal courtesy not great play from Owen Dale but why do we sit on a one nil lead? You have to agree surely we were Dire apart from our first goal, but then wake up with a few mins left to try and get the winner after the equaliser.
Not having a go by the way.๐Ÿ˜Š

Good goals but not a great performance even if a deserved win.

Great cross from Dale for Gregly's goal. Gregly really should have scored with his first header.

Owen Dale really did impress and was our main threat. Deservedly motm.

Whilst the 1st half wasn't great, it was less frustrating than the 2nd half. That we only went for it with tempo after they levelled was annoying.

Edit: Another frustration was Ruben. He had special moments like the turn and pass to Owen Dale which unfortunately OD miscontrolled a bit further on. But for chunks of today, the game passed him by and he seemed to be on his heels with the ball just going by him. He was properly involved after their equaliser, being proactive rather than reactive.

The one where we had 55% possession to Cheltenham's 45%; 17 shots to their 10; 8 on target to their 3; 4 corners to their 3; and 6 fouls to their 16.

If we were shocking, what were Cheltenham?
We were both shocking and were going to play a lot better teams in the remaining fixtures, but if we play like we did in the last 10 minutes then we could but the nouns small possibility we could reach the play offs and be in the lottery at the end of the season.
Oh just to let you know Stats mean fcuk all

Can we sign Cheltenham's keeper at the end of the season please.

Born in Oxford too. Very impressive display today and if it hadn't been for him we would of won more convincingly.
