Another match missing a game plan. Why all the passing backwards? It gifted a poor opposition both goals. No continuous high press, just risky long balls all the while. Defence was chaotic after Branagan went off. Worrying after poor performance at Wycombe. Liam Manning had a clear approach, but Des seems to need direction

Murphy had scored and been a constant threat first half. I didn’t think he’d done enough to be withdrawn.
Look at his injury record. Wingers always get interchanged, it's a high octane position. I think it was the right call. His final ball wasn't the best tonight.

What a difference one goal makes, if we’d hung on, there would be comments about how we’re cementing a place in the play-off positions/ground out a gritty win.

I was encouraged by Murphy, Goodwin and Dale tonight. New options for the team.

Brannagan and Goodrham performed well as usual.

Just a shame about the farcical late goal which changes the whole dynamic of this thread.

Goodwin & Goodrham needs to start Saturday. Bodin & Rodriguez on the bench. Where is Tyler Burey ? He's technically talented

Exactly that. I find it utterly baffling how opinions change based on 2 individual errors and how it's the managers setup. I'm convinced people don't watch games, they just go by the posts on here.

Matete, not sure on him, loses the ball and runs around like I do. Time to leave him out of the squad.

We played OK tonight. Admittedly against a poor Northampton team but we created chances and we were good for our lead, twice. The subs were decent again and great to see Dale and Goodwin combining well for the type of goal we rarely score these days.

Sadly, both of Northampton’s goals were completely self inflicted. Absolutely brainless and particularly the second when we should be managing games properly.

Long over hitting a pass, Negru failing to deal with a simple one like against Reading and gifting it to them. I’m not having that offside suggestion - Negru just needs to deal with it.

Very frustrating as we were generally good - puts more pressure on Saturday too.
I actually felt that was an awkward situation for Negru as he actually had to run around their player who was in an offside position to get to the ball. It’s a s**t rule because once he (Negru) gets the ball their player can then challenge him for the ball which in the particular case would have been a disadvantage to Negru, unless he just hoofed the ball into the stands. Personally I think it should have been called offside as he as clearly interfering with play.

In the game against Reading the situation was different in that he just needed to put his foot through the ball by playing it in behind their left back position.

The options for Negru into feet trying to play it forward was virtually non existent throughout the game e.g. no one showing as an option in to feet. In fact their first goal came about because fans had just booed Negru for playing the ball backwards, so a few moments later when he was in a similar position, because he was fearful of playing it backwards again, I think he played it into Bodin’s feet who wasn’t really set right to receive it, hence losing it, thus leading to their 1st goal.

On one hand we're up to 5th, 5 unbeaten and it's all to play for.

On the other hand these draws are very frustrating.

Two individual errors from players who are probably in their last few months with the club.

Well not with the current ‘manager’ no, but under an experienced manager like Manning they would at least have a good chance of making the play offs.

You’ve changed your tune haven’t you?

Under Manning we were going up via the auto’s weren’t we?

Stop throwing your rattle out of your pram for a bloody second. You remind me of a spoilt little kid bawling his eyes out in the middle of Aldi because he can’t get a bar of his favourite chocolate.

Manning buggered off (maybe he didn’t love you enough) and Des isn’t going anywhere, so you may as well get used to it.

We win that game comfortably enough without the individual mistakes we make every game. It’s not the actual mistakes alone, it’s how bad they are, we gift goals to the opponents, that’s 3 points dropped this season to a very basic Northampton.

Be a harder game on Saturday against a better team in Leyton Orient, but I thought we showed some promise in that second half, Dale looked like he could make himself space and out quality in, add that to Murphy on the other side and you would hope we can start hurting teams.

Of all the players you’ve decided to slate the one who only played for 15 minutes?! 😂😂

As for people blaming Long for the 2nd goal, yes it was a bad/odd decision but the goal wasn’t scored until 26 seconds later after that pass. In that time there were at least 3 changes to get rid of the ball.

That isn’t even taking into account that it should have been offside.
