I think we will get a point today Wycombe is a tough place to go and I dunno if this team has the fight to go and scrap for a win so 2-2 with them getting a late equaliser

I can see this being a draw, not the worst result, but not the best either.

With new signings and players returning from injury it will be interesting to see Des’ starting XI, who makes the bench, and who doesn’t.

Given his performance at our place against Bristol Rovers, I’m worried.
He issued 3 reds, one of which (Mills) was rescinded by the league.
The game was a competitive battling match and he lost it. I hope he doesn’t ruin this game by flashing loads of cards.
 
Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett criticized Mather in 2022 when he brandished 13 yellow cards and a red when Wimbledon played Sunderland.

Hackett said: ‘ When you look at that game, for the referee to issue 13 yellow cards and one red shows that the referee lost control.Now, he may not have lost control of the game but he may have lost control of himself. His refereeing is ineffective.”

“ The yellow card is to be used as a warning. I think that referee needs some advice and some coaching so that he can make his future yellow cards more effective.”

Not much has appeared to have changed.
 
1-3 yellows. Cambran was woodwork width from a worldie against Wigan, I think we will see one materialise today.

Really dislike Wycombe
Hope we come away with 3 points but with a combination of this ref and Wycombe dark arts I'm not confident.

Need to get at them, and stay at them all game, none of this sitting back and inviting them to attack us.

Wycombe are playing well ,I saw the highlights against Bolton and they could have had 6 or 7 goals. We really have got to be up for this ,but at the minute I just don't feel we ate playing for 90 minutes or more .Just don't loose
 
They will come at us straight from the start but we will withstand the pressure. They will tire in the second half, and we will will go on to win.

If we concede in the initial phase, it will be harder, but our quality will win out.

I have absolutely no doubts that Des has a robust tactical plan ready and waiting to unleash that will leave Wycombe looking like complete amateurs. 3 nil Oxford.
