Watched on iFollow so maybe not the best perspective - but wow if Matete is fit and can play like that he needs to be starting on Tuesday and as often as possible from here on in. Quietly impressed with Goodwin too.

Like others have said. Moore and Long were superb, particularly second half. We could’ve won it. But without Cumming’s excellent stop we could’ve lost. We could also have got easily overwhelmed in the dying moments but fought valiantly.

Generally that was a better performance all round (after we started slowly and switched off for their goal), and pleasing to finally have options to rotate and actually keep competing after 70 minutes of a game (as opposed to having nothing on the bench, so just clinging on in the last quarter of games). So important we back it up with another good performance on Tuesday. Those McGuane and Bodin chances won’t feel as hard to swallow if we win…

Why do we have to play in blue, why not yellow or red, that blue looks like s**t.

Any yes we should have won.

Ty Goodrham has looked lost at times when he has played the 10 role. For me he is better cutting in from the wing.
Was really bright at times first half. He got a read on Pennington very early and skinned him a few times. Just wish he'd slow down a bit. He rushes things at times and the ball just gets away from him at the vital moment. Unquestionable talent there but it'll be that composure to slow himself down that might make the difference. He's good enough to leave it late and take it around someone but often loses the ball before he gets that opportunity.

Put Dale back in the mix and we've suddenly got a good crop of attacking options. Thought Goodwin was impressive. Big lad, gets amongst it and smart with his movement, he really knows how to play that role.

Encouraging afternoon in the main.

The DESaster continues as we hurtle towards mid table obscurity.

Hey, it may surprise some of you, but the teams previously managed by Des would not make the EFC. His appointment remains a complete mystery.
A fool arrives. (Is this Karl Robinson I wonder?)

1) The A league where Des has managed one club and been effective manager of another is definitely the equivalent to the EFL.
2) 7th in the table is not "mid table obscurity"
3) what Des- related pun are you going to use when we get promoted?

@Northernyellow keep an eye on your lad...

How's he going to get match fit if he doesn't play?

My view is there is a right and wrong time to bring players back in from lay offs. Ideally, when you are comfortable in a game. Unfortunately that is not a position we find ourselves in much. Given that, I thought we brought too many players on who were coming back. I think a fourth in Bodin was too much. Given Henry's last contribution for us, not just the goal but also he looked sharp, he also said he finally feels sharp, I think he should have the opportunity to influence games ahead of Bodin at the moment. Having said all of that, I'm not disappointed with the result but feel we could of got more.

Very good point. Consistently decent performance. Matete looks excellent. Goodwin is very physical and immediately gives us options, especially against a tiring defence. Maybe the 'Des Out' brigade will take the day off. Still not sure we'll make playoffs, but that was very encouraging.

I doubt whether the ‘Des Out’ brigade will take the day off as being second in the league when he joined and looking very good for the playoffs has depressingly become “still not sure we’ll make the play offs”.
And this for many as the results poor results continue is becoming more and more unlikely we will make the play offs and very soon season over after being so promising under Manning.

I too watched on IPlayer. Thought it was a very entertaining hard fought match. Big contrast in styles but a huge amount of effort from both teams but lacking in quality on a difficult pitch..
Matete could be a game changer for us. Not only could he give us balance but enable us to exploit our attacking options.
I must say today was the most control we have had since Des was appointed.
Cumming save was special and if we had taken one of the two gilt edged chances it would have ended up a special day

1) Okay low down in Conference South.
2) I said hurtling towards midtable which is true on results so far.
3) From DESappointment to DEStinction.

Harris fills all the rolls across the front, including the Rodrigues roll.
If Goodwin is considered starting.
