Well to me it reads like Taylor is being shown the door at BC, so, if we are serious about getting a proven striker in, he is one that we should be interested in.
Money does seem to be an issue (Isn’t it always?), goalscorers command top dollar both in transfer fees and wages, but we must be close to signing him or he would not have been here.
He wants the best deal for himself (as he always has) so we will just have to wait and see if we have put together the sweetest deal in town.

Any player should be looking to get the best deal they can get

This is all quite amusing - the complete failure to entertain the possibility the Taylor might not be about to sign the second he was spotted, the mischief-making of the OM pretending they are investigative journos by publishing a sneaky tunnel snap in the gallery without any comment, the handshake police piping up, the ITKs espousing their knowledge, the serial-whiners using the lack of the deal by the time Gary L kicked off MOTD as proof the the board were pennyless, the lack of comment from the hair-police on that stupid barnet he was sporting, the forensic analysis of the Bristol reaction, the forensic analysis of the forensic analysis, those quoting others who quoted them as proof that their original quote was proven, the handshake police taking on the mystery illness police as to which ex Ox, current BC player was the greater heretic, the praise for Colin Murray mentioning Napa's injury on the cup highlights show, yet with no comment on the complete horlicks he made of trying to say his first name, teh actual story - more contrived than the normal explanation of a forum ITKs source but in the end true - surfacing, the ITKs then scrabbling around to decide whether to admit they got it wrong or to try to BS their way out by creating a secondary backstory of talks, , as handshake-boy's recent record is marvelled over while mystery-illness boy's better stats are ridiculed as wasting an opportunity, while all the time the other two players in the stands for the game, and the fact that a week later neither are any closer to signing are completely forgotten about.......

Then again, guess that's just a normal week on yellowsforum....

Still, there was less talk of Brexit and less Train puns, so it could have been worse.

So, what's your agenda then eh?

Back to normal business.

*Ahem*. "We need a striker!"

at least we're not saying we need a centre back and striker, so some progress

FFP rules
Agreed re FFP but it depends what we pay as a % of his wages. Garbutt was (still is!) on £28k per week but we only paid £2.5k of that. Could we do something similar for Baldock to give him game time and pay a small % of his wages? Unlikely inmho as I don't think he's drop two divisions but you never know.

You may end up being right, but I think it’s quite telling that Agyei wasn’t given the number 9 shirt despite being signed on a three year deal for cash. They’re clearly saving that number, and I think that suggests that they’re at least pretty confident that whoever comes in will be of a certain standard.
Or have we retired the No. 9 shirt as a homage to Steve Anthrobus' contribution to the club?

They rent out office space at their stadium which counts as an additional revenue stream.

The rent they charge, apparently, is quite high. And the company renting just so happens to be owned by the owner of the club!

Our Billionaire Boy's Club could easily "sponsor" the team shirt in a multi-million deal if they wanted to and we would be compliant with FFP.

However, they would struggle to recoup their money in the event of selling as the cost would be expensed rather than recorded in the Balance Sheet as debt.
And it would also fly in the face of running the club in a sustainable manner which has been the recent mantra and quite correctly so given Bury, Bolton etc.

will he, wont he? ... the intrigue surrounding him does seem to make the hands shake a bit

It does seem that Bristol City want to sell him on a permanent basis, but we’re not keen, especially as it could be cheaper in a few months time. Reading that article it would appear that he would have limited game time so at his stage of his career it’s not the best.

On top of that you’ve got the personal term agreement to agree, so I guess the cheaper we can get him for the more likely we can offer better personal terms.

Its a thought, but regarding Taylor apparently BCFC want him sold and not loaned. So that look the problem.

It’s guess work, Taylor appears in the tunnel and suddenly that is the championship in layer we were looking at and now it materialises that Taylor was there for the mascot. There’s to much about anything and everything about who is and who isn’t coming to the club, it possibly may have been Taylor but it’s dragged on since tunnel-gate for any thing to happen and which the handshake sage I think this business has to be taken with a pinch of salt, and maybe KR was looking at someone else depending on whether they’re club has a transfer in to allow our target out.
He's a seasoned professional after all.
