New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Funnily enough Primark is the busiest shop in the there , the bottom shops are empty ... Won't be long before they start pulling out
The alchemist is always busy which surprises me why any one wants to spend 15 quid on a fancy vodka and coke with a bit of sugar round the top of the glass is beyond me

To be honest I thought the old shops in the original Westgate was better. John Anthony for one..
Place was a dump though, other than primark selling cheap stuff that doesn't last what low end shops survive on the high street? if it hadn't of changed it would of been full of boarded up shops, like most Town centres across the country, internet shopping changed the shopping world. John Anthony got to young for me, moved onto Oaks near the covered market, then it moved to the road the Blenheim is on, not sure if its still there?

Would be good for the club to secure a premises in the Westgate for a club shop. How about the club open a unit that is a cub shop and a sports bar all in one? Would make it a viable option then especially when we will only be playing a 6 minute train or 15 minutes bus away.

An OUFC sports bar/social club/shop etc in town would be great, especially if you are getting the train via town, not sure how viable it would be given the current climate but I suppose those pop up things survive and the ability to sell tickets and tat to tourists could help.

Quick gander in there, then off down Turl Street to Walters for your Burberry (and later Aquascutum) fix and also the place a couple of doors down (Oaks?) for your AJs and a fresh Lacoste polo...

Haha yeah when that first opened, me & my mate went in there before a match. We bought the cocktails that steam, it was like something out of carry on screaming.
We spent over hundred quid before we left town, to the Ka***m.
Never again 😭
My plans was to get all the lads that used to drink in town & to make the top of the Westgate as a meeting place, that soon went out of the window cause of the prices..

Is this the first time the club (via OUSP), rather than OxVox, has asked fans to send in comments to the portal and contact councillors.

It shows how serious this is getting.

(And shows that Plan B will need to be communicated at some point since the summer of 2026 is looking unlikely for opening the new stadium.)

If ran properly it could become very popular. Just don't out price customers.

The tourist market is massive within the city centre.

We need something in the city centre in my opinion that fans can meet up at not just before and after games.

Walter's proper clothes shop, even Shepard & woodwood, you could get your haircut at the same time. Nextdoor to Walters Duckers shoe shop / cobblers home to the rich & famous.
500 quid upwards for a quality pair of brogues ..

Just waiting for the Oxford English Dictionary to confirm my definition has been accepted, but should go through without question.
I think OED will need a direct quote, so you’d better get screenshotting on nextdoor!

Or for the 'slightly' older folk. Ben Sherman in Shepherd & Woodward, Levi's in Watsons, then a pair of Doc's from the old Millets. Can't remember where I bought the Harrington from!

Good old Watson's, they've destroyed the covered market, one of my favourite shops was the army surplus in George st, now the 4 candles. Got my favourite shirt ever from there. A ex prison ,stripped collar less shirt...

Yes I miss the club shop in the covered market, even though it was limited. They used to have another one on the entrance of the Clarendon centre in the 80s .I'm sure fans will make a couple of pubs,in town near the station. I for one Will still venture into town ,from Kidlington & back on match days.
