Now, now Mad Dog, Go and enjoy the shopping. Wrap up warm. She might buy you something nice. And you sound like the exact kind of wimp who's probably glad todays game has been called off, so you can stay at home in the warm, munching on your favourite grandad sweets
The inspection seems to take place 30 mins before hr advertised time.
Can we all ping you our shopping lists, it will save the rest of us having to get dragged along as well.Yes it bloody well is, I'm being dragged around the f*****g shopping centre for the afternoon now!!
Considering the Stevenage game is going ahead and I bet their facilities aren’t any better than oursPitch inspection was far too early given the relative short journey for away fans.
Yeah their legs ,insured for 20,000,000They’re a much more valuable commodity these days. And given the amount they get paid you don’t want them on the sidelines longer than necessary.
Violence bad in the Netherlands at football matches?Didn't know that, haven't been to a match there. It is virtually impossible as a casual supporter to get into a Dutch football match nowadays as you need to have a club affiliation via a membership scheme due to recent crowd violence so not seen the pitch and didn't even consider to think any top league side in Europe especially one with a longitude the same as London would even contemplate having an synthetic surface. Every day is a learning day.
Probably a good game for us to have postponed today given the supposed injury comebacks soon. But still a bit stuck what to do today now. Might have to be the excitement of a tax return.
Haven't seen you on here for a while Ryanio so hopefully this is a start of your own comeback?
Wow poor old Barnsley if they think the game is going ahead but now travel on and at 1 pm it’s called off, I bet Stevenage wouldn’t reimburse the Barnsley fans

Could we have not done that considering the distance from Northampton or is it that bad. But as others have said okay it tomorrow at 3 pm
Not knocking you mate but why have we not got a further pitch inspection considering the distance between our clubs which is hell of a lot closer than Stevenage and BarnsleyWhat's the alternative? Postpone it at 10 am and be criticised for not giving the game a chance of going ahead.
Only solution is to make it a requirement for any ground in the EFL to have undersoil heating.
And what about our game against Barnsley days later. Or even the many people who wouldn’t be able to make it?Could we have not done that considering the distance from Northampton or is it that bad. But as others have said okay it tomorrow at 3 pm
But we didn't heve it in Lennigan's time?Wigan has under soil heating as it's a requirement for Rugby league teams ground to have it. The same reason Wycombe have it.
Not knocking mate but there temperature has been colder than ours so unless they’ve got some sort of heating I find it strange that we couldn’t of tried harder to get the game on, but obviously I also appreciate that the safety of players is paramount but at least the ref Sam Purkiss has unsaid another pitch inspection two hours after his first should happen as there might be a chance of the game going ahead.YEAH! The north is ALWAYS colder than the south. ALWAYS.
Hope everything is ok and good luckForum (fan base) fatigue combined with a chaotic personal life that is unlikely to improve any time soon means I don’t really have the will to engage anymore. Still have a read most days though, particularly when I’m stuck at the JR with nothing else to do.
Enjoy your tax return - don’t settle for anything less than absolute satisfaction on the expenses front.
It isn't ,if your of a certain age & have seen many of a match played in much ,much, worse conditions .. nearly as bad ,as you can't play conkers at school no more...And what about our game against Barnsley days later. Or even the many people who wouldn’t be able to make it?
The over reaction from actual human adults to a postponement is stunning.
Now there's a legend from the folklore of Oufc.Yep ,old Ken Fishes magic sponge & a dose of smelling salts
But we didn't heve it in Lennigan's time?
