We go again……….
Was never going to be a big crowd from them, the fans that went to watch them in the prem and even the championship were fairly local people from the surrounding towns and villages who just wanted to watch a certain level of football, they had no interest in hanging around to watch lower league football, they will lose a few more thousand when they get relegated and are in the 4th division next season. Those fans from Twyford, Yateley, Hook, Old Basing etc have no real rivalry with us as they only started watching them when the new ground went up and most come from no where near Oxford. The ones there though will be among the most delusional fans in the country who refuse to accept that they used to get 3,000 at Elm Park in the fourth division and are just heading back to where a commuter town with very little identity of its owns football team should be.
Will (hopefully) be fun to rub their noses in it.
Bring your boots then, in case you get selected.I'd be happy to score in the league under Buckingham for the first time.
Yep and it comes to something when Bodin becomes our best, and only maybe, option up front when he’s in poor form. When covering for Harris’s suspension he did ok but a bit of a drop off since then. Not against that, but Bodin has been nearly as bad as Harris the last few games, and has also played a lot for a player with his injury history. Don't want another long term injury problem to deal with.
A win at all costs!
He has at least scored and has 7 this season? Not against that, but Bodin has been nearly as bad as Harris the last few games, and has also played a lot for a player with his injury history. Don't want another long term injury problem to deal with.
What a day that was. Although it went downhill after the game when some Reading scrotes nicked my scarf and chucked it around and then off the bus back to the station. I've never forgiven Reading fans as the older ones on the top deck didn't do a thing to stop it. Gutless.Obligatory post...
Matt Murphy? His scoring record was great, he got 19 or 20 from midfield one season - it was more that he wasn't otherwise a very good player. What a day that was. We could do with a Matt Murphy at the moment despite the fact he wasn't appreciated much at the time! (Actually having said that, I've just looked up his scoring record for us and it was pants...)
I must admit I thought he scored goals so I was surprised to read he only scored 38 in 246 games (from Wikipedia).Matt Murphy? His scoring record was great, he got 19 or 20 from midfield one season - it was more that he wasn't otherwise a very good player.
I think he started off pretty rubbish and scored more goals in his later appearances.I must admit I thought he scored goals so I was surprised to read he only scored 38 in 246 games (from Wikipedia).
Rageonline says 55 goals from 196 starts + 92 sub appearances. Wikipedia is maybe only including league games?
He seems to have been top scorer with 17 in 1999/2000 which is impressive considering we finished 1 point off relegation. This probably explains why I remembered him as a goalscorer because I had a season ticket that year.
He joined when were in the second tier. I remember when he was signed he was billed as an excellent finisher, and he was - he just didn't do all that much else.I think he started off pretty rubbish and scored more goals in his later appearances.
