I still think you could probably have a front 3 of Burey, Marriott and Harris. The fluidity of that attack is what Manning wants and each player can move around if necessary to suit the game. If a player like Marriott were to come in, there would be rotation and versatility used in the attack.

Agree - Harris hasn't left a Championship club as back up to come here for the same

It will be Woltman, Burey and a left back. Still can’t see us offering Fleetwood 500k for a backup to Harris (although its not my money so I wouldn’t complain)

Blackpool should enjoy their second position whilst it lasts (which will be until the start of the season).

Charlton, you would expect to be in the top five somewhere on paper, and can't help therefore feel the top spots are going to be a combination of Barnsley, Charlton, Derby, and possibly Peterborough, with the play-offs between Blackpool (better put them in as they are easily upset), Portsmouth, Wycombe, hopefully us, and possibly Reading if they actually get their act together. This said, rarely does football reflect one's reasonable assumptions so expect Stevenage or some other team that is similar to surprise us.

Well unless we change the system, (which we won’t) he will be a backup. Harris has shown what he’s capable of and is integral to the way we play

I didn't see the matches but trust me no player is nailing his place in the team on the back of two pre season friendlies. Form fluctuates and there is every chance that Harris spends time on the bench as a back up to Marriott, Burey or anyone else you care to mention, just as there will be times that Harris is ripping it up and keeping others out. Most players are in the lower leagues for one main reason - they are inconsistent in their performances.

Marriott would no doubt get decent game time but right now, he would be our second choice striker. Like I said, I want him and I couldn’t care less what we pay but I can’t see us paying 500k for someone who isn’t the first name on the teamsheet (I hope we do but just can’t see it myself)

We went from a playoff contender to a relegation contender in the space of one summer - and with virtually the same squad. It's very easily done!!

The irony of someone saying "You don't tend to go from that kind of form to a Play Off contender over the space of just one summer."

We went from a playoff contender to a relegation contender in the space of one summer - and with virtually the same squad. It's very easily done!!

They also forget that they were in the bottom half for the 1st half of their play off winning season and the signing of the likes of Ellis Simms in January turned around their form.

My worry is that when we play the route 1 sides and the big powerful sides we may have problems.That is where we may need an alternative sort of striker who can hold onto the ball and a no nonsense midfielder both who can get stuck in

Gorrin could be that midfielder or even Smyth.

Striker and Left back are my main concern with regards to competition.
