We did for a while, such an uplifting entrance song.

I pretty much agree with the first sentiment here and I'm not big on the increasing number of posts that seem to criticise our own fans - not enough away tickets sold, no atmosphere, etc. It's never been easy in a ground where the sound just drifts away. Its the close season and time for eternal threads...........
The product on the pitch builds the atmosphere. That`s it.
And for those who say "standing helps" - remember the club have a text service that allows folk to grass on you for such things.
Some of us bought our tickets "off plan" so that we could stand, at the back, with like minded folk. Trouble is we are getting old now.
Working class history, standing areas, seating close to pitch, young fans, good performances.
Allowing under 15s to watch for free would be a good investment in future atmosphere.
Moving?Hmm, that working class bit doesn't bode well for the future.
Having been located in the ghettos of Headington and Greater Leys for all of our history we're now looking to move to an idyllic garden village.
I'm surprised you hadn't heard tbh.
I think we need some better songs.
Bring back some more old classics.
Modern football songs are naff, dull, and every club sings them (eg that awful "everywhere we go" nonsense - i refuse to sing that).
Yellow Submarine is all well and good but its just a chant, in current form, which is soon done.
Liam Mannings Yellow Army is fine, but gets boring quickly.
Swindon fan on a string - doesnt exactly inspire / lift the team.
We need our own new song, something lively and uplifting to get the players going, that can be sung over and over.
Otherwise we end up with a song starting, ending and thats it.
Get yer quills out lads, and get writing some songs. We must have a yellow Noel Gallagher who can write something simple and catchy
I genuinely think our crest is the best in the UK. It's awesome.
Couple of things we noticed over the years was that our fans speed up when clapping which causes the songs to finish pretty quickly. Secondly, instead of clapping, if someone started banging a seat or (away from home) banging the back of the stand, we'd suddenly sing 10x louder.Definitely need some more songs and variety.
But we also need a snare drum to keep everyone in Rhythm. I've lost count of how many times a song has filtered out because one section sing faster than others.
Do you lads still have the snare drum/materials you can pass on to whoever the new kids on the block are? From Ultimate Yellows, to GE/OU it always felt like our vocal support, displays were getting better year after year and then Mixter and lads moving away seemed to kill it.Couple of things we noticed over the years was that our fans speed up when clapping which causes the songs to finish pretty quickly. That's when we brought in the snare drum which was mid-higher pitched, couldn't be heard by the South or North Stands when being played. The East Stand sang louder, more fans joined in, the songs continued for longer and the whole atmosphere was significantly better. That was probably my favourite ever home atmospheres (other than the obvious massive playoff / Swindon games). Luckily at the time we had a genuine drummer and enough of us who had seen how it's done overseas, it's important to get it right.
To this day I don't think some fans are even aware we played a drum in the East Stand for a season!
Unfortunately I think I can remember us breaking the drum near the end of the season and binning it, £200-300 down the can! I had a number of materials but had to throw a lot away as I needed the space. The new lads seem to have a decent funding from somewhere as they seem to get all their flags/banners printed. We had some of the complicated designs printed but felt it showed more passion (and saved a lot of money!) if you sew materials and paint them, they looked more authentic and less like a club funded project.Do you lads still have the snare drum/materials you can pass on to whoever the new kids on the block are? Where abouts in the East Stand are the singers congregated mainly these days? Feels quite sparse and spread out. I've seen people 2 or 3 rows from the back wanting to sit down. Fairly certain they're still waving a union jack waver I left behind and possibly some of the flag poles we left in the East Stand storage room.
I’ve already ordered chinos, tweed jacket and hunter wellys in prep for this. Out goes my working class attire of jeans, hoodie and trainers so I’ll definitely be doing my bit and looking the part.Hmm, that working class bit doesn't bode well for the future.

I'm not against wheeling out people onto pitches per se, but I just don't believe this is the right pitch to do it.Wheel out one of the FoSB lunatics before every game, that'll get the crowd going. Might also be a great opportunity for them to see some working class people for a change too!
"Please welcome to the pitch, Suzanne McIvor!"
"BOOOOOOOO!"
