General Feedback from Friday's visit at OUFC

Robinson should not be at this meeting, it‘s difficult to be critical of someone when they are in earshot. And especially so given his intimidating personality. That’s naughty of them to bring him along.
The group should’ve invited me along to wait in the car park so that after Robinson walked in, I walked in. Then it would’ve been a party. Like a s**t WWE promo with sandwiches and cups of tea.

You're expecting too much. No boss would invite people in to discuss a member of staff in public without them being present.
 
Yes but he shouldn’t be present when people want to ask about reasons for our poor performance & poor transfer windows, which were all through faults of his own unfortunately. So no, it stops people or makes people feel like they can’t actually ask the hard hitting questions they need to & knowing his personality he will take over & just spout rubbish to fill time & just generally chat bullshit like he normally does. That’s why.

Then maybe the meeting should of taken place away from where Robinson was then, be that at the training ground or stadium, either/or

No, because some of us know the reason for that poor performance & honestly it’s not something I’d wish to discuss in front of him because I’d imagine it would be quite uncomfortable for him to answer such questions in front of superiors. Especially if they aren’t aware of it.
 
Maybe if you feel unable to criticise someone in front of them then you shouldn't criticise them
In my previous job, a number of us had an issue with our line manager, who we felt was lazy and underperforming, rude and bullying, so we organised a meeting with our main manager.

At the first meeting, said line manager also attended, and many of the people in attendance understandably clammed up (not me) and it was a waste of time, and nothing changed.

The next time we called a meeting with our manager, we insisted the line manager wasn’t allowed to attend, and it was much more productive, people opened up and got stuck in, and it really opened our managers eyes to what had been going on, and he made sure relevant action was taken.

Indeed. The problem being that, judging on all recent performances, if he hasn't 'lost the dressing toom' then he has a team full of willing workers whom he is unable to organise properly. Different cause, same result - both down to him.

But you were employees. This is a situation with customers. The power relationship is inverted.
 
I await the proper debrief of todays meeting with interest.

But. At the start of this week I was of the opinion that, as a CEO of a professional football club, TW was horribly out of his depth, and that Thursday and Friday would go a long way in demonstrating if that was accurate.

Nothing I have learnt so far convinces me otherwise.
