Robinson won't be fired this week no matter the result today, so wanting a defeat does nothing but harm our club.

Think Anderson has paternity leave so I’d imagine Long will be RB

Anderson was said to be on paternity leave, but you never know.
Indicates Long on the right of a four, unless we are going to put all five of our other defenders in from the start. Is negru fit again yet?
I'm also wondering whether we'll see Long as defensive midfielder at some stage before the season is out...

any news on todays match referee as yet?

ah - managed to find out (eventually), its Scott Oldham

Would anyone here like to see us lose if it meant KR is out of a job over the weekend or Monday lunch time?

I never want to see my club lose that I have so much passion for, but for the good of the club I want him out sooner rather than later.
I never want my club to loose games but it really is a shambles after 2 awful windows.

I've stayed away for several weeks now as a ST holder because we've been shafted/ let down as a result of some horrific decisions, many of which are down to one man only and the time came for him to go months ago.

There's no doubt Taylor has been woeful this season but our setup to play to his strengths were no longer evident within the squad. I really do feel we are looking at another Bullman scenario in the making! A few weeks KR was citing he was ready to unleash Taylor who was looking sharp again in training so something definitely went on, even if as he says they are still friends.

Of course if we loose today and he still doesn't get the bullet (because we can't afford to do it! ) it will probably be at the stage where I'll put my grumblings to one side and just get up there to back the players.

Port Vale play Wycombe today. It will be really interesting to see what happens there!
And looking at the table sides below us have 2 games in hand on us so it could look very worrying come 5pm and a different level of toxicity

I understand the clamour for three/five at the back, but do have some concerns
- it worked for a bit last season, but only while baldock and Taylor were in partnership. Once SB got injured we tried continuing with it, but it soon looked quite disjointed. My feeling was that the success was down to the pair of them striking up their own partnership rather than it being the system.
- we tried it earlier this season to little avail, and it was only when we went back to a four that we started improving.
- any change of system requires everyone learning not only a new role themselves, but also where others are going to be on the pitch at any one time. This is not something that has typically gone well in recent times, whether five at the back, or the 4231 he tries periodically, with players often looking uncertain. This is why I'm inclined to agree that the players prefer 433, because thay understand it.

Yes, it looks better on paper with our current squad, but I'm nervous that too much chopping and changing away from the tried and trusted at this stage risks more mistakes, chances wasted and goals given away cheaply

Surely at least one of Murphy, Baldock, Henry will be on the bench today, after being on the grass for a little while now. Even it’s just a bench place to hand out some water or cups of tea!

We are so thin on the ground it’s almost frightening to see one of the players go into a 50/50 challenge.

So if we lose & play like we have last 3 you think he stays.

Owners playing a dangerous dangerous game if that’s the case.

I think a defeat he goes. A draw he gets MK next week. A win and he gets another few weeks at least.

Hopefully we get a win regardless of whatever the managerial outcome is. MK, Cambridge and Bristol Rovers are all games that we shouldn't fear so we could find ourselves looking all but safe by the end of the month, but that has to start today.

Just like we didn't fear Burton Albion.

We need 8 points minimum from our next 5 games, less than 6 we will be very much in squeaky bum time.

Come on Oxford 3 points today please!

The East stand car is like the Marie Celeste compared to a typical Saturday.
The missing ST holders will bolster the crowd size again like Wednesday.
