I don't know why Mousinho is being written off on grounds of age. Richard Wood was Rotherham's centre half in 39 of their league games last season. And he's 37!!

Did Dick Wood stop playing football regularly for well over two years at any point in his career? It’s not because Mousinho is 36. It’s because he hasn’t been a professional footballer since Covid. You can’t take a player that age, park them for that amount of time and have them virtually hang up their boots, and get them back to peak fitness levels to the point where they become a viable option for what is supposed to be a promotion chasing L1 side. It’s completely unrealistic.

If people want John Mousinho to be registered so he can sit on the bench occasionally and play 10/20 minutes here and there, or maybe start once or twice in case of an absolute emergency then that’s one thing, he probably has value in that regard, but if anybody thinks he’s a genuine squad option who could come in and start a month’s worth of games if required then they’ve totally lost the plot. Not even John Mousinho backs John Mousinho to be able to do that anymore.

All bar a couple of hundred of 1300, by yesterday afternoon. We'll have enough ammo in the tank, so confident of a comfortable win, against a side we should be beating to get back on course for the promotion push, when the squad is finally put together by Wednesday.
