Let's remember that at the KPC meeting they said they were told by OCC no form decision will be name until the Autumn. Let's hope that doesn't play out tomorrow. If it does OCC have a leak.
dont know if its a coincidence , but impartial (!) Councillor Ian Middleton is a KPC councillor, also a Parish councillor for up to another 2 parishes , also hes a Cherwell district council and Oxon County Council councillor ....and he impartially insists that despite Kassam terminating the lease in 2026, that Oxford United can continue playing at the Grenoble rd stadium. ...OCC has.a leak? more of a sieve, methinks ,given the inside information FoSB & KDW have had access to

Very true - and I imagine many of the naysayers or their families will happily make use of the new facilities if they do get built.
Of course they will Bert.

I liken the building of the new stadium to the building of the ice rink all those years ago. I didn’t care one way or another on a personal level.

It didn’t affect me,but I didn’t mind it being built because I thought some people will get huge enjoyment from it.

Roll on a few tears taking my children to visit ,they loved it and one of my daughters friends went on to perform as an ice skater having used the Oxford ice rink as a starting point.

So all these people who don’t want the stadium built may have children or grandchildren who may go on to represent their country at football and they can say the new OUFC development gave me that chance, because let’s face it if it doesn’t get built that chance will be taken away

One of the biggest days in oufc's history and it is hardly mentioned in the OM.
They really haven't supported the football club at all have they? Allowed a small minority of NIMBY'S to set the agenda.
I wonder why?
When it’s the opening ceremony they will be expecting front row seats to the ribbon cutting.

I wish Oxford had another newspaper, or even and online news service.

The OM has a monopoly around here.

BBC South, yesterday evening, did announce that they would be running a story on the stadium issue today on their 18:30 bulleting.
They were also gracious enough to announce the score from Saturday and mention that it was foggy. Then they moved onto more important matters. 🙄

It really is time people started to boycott this rag of a paper.
I always thought it came across as a leaning towards the right sort of paper in accordance with their paymasters,so to see them pushing in the green/liberal direction makes me think they have another agenda

I have no idea how I'm going to do any work today, I feel like the day before the playoff final.

@Jolteon what a message and how incredibly brave to share. Thankyou.

Today is the day when you hope your voting decisions and increased lunch buffet allowances give the right outcome. Local government is horrible generally but I hope today they do the right thing and play their part in history. It's that important.

Any help welcome ...Lets hope Fat Larry n his band, do their bit getting todays decision favourably over the line this afternoon .....
Sarge this dates us
Just think in this day and age he would have to be known as Larry’s band😀 and even then it may have to be
Lyra’s/Larry’s band

That’s the world we live in I’m afraid. Too many lefties. That’s the media and most local rags.

Take me back to the Eighties, when Britain was better.

Thread for the council meeting will start at 13:30, including a link to the meeting. Listen very carefully and study the body language of the councillors.

Gutted I can't watch the meeting today - the Horton booked my partner in for a midwife appointment this afternoon so I'll be travelling when it starts.

Whatever happens today, we can all be proud. We have all conducted ourselves brilliantly, kept it polite, respectful and passionate. If it doesn't go our way we don't stop the fight.

All the best everyone. Hopefully when I jump on here this evening to join in with the matchday thread there'll be a thread of celebration to join too.

Don’t want to get political but the phrase too many lefties is wrong in this instance. The media is nearly always right wing and that includes local papers. The only left wing papers are the Mirror and Guardian The BBC are now in the Governments pocket

Eighties were slightly better than now but under Thatcher things were grim at times.

Nineties and first ten years of this century were much better

I have emailed the editor (again) and told him that. I also used the word “rag” 😊

Can anyone send me the link to the council meeting today so I can keep updated as to what happens
Cheers guys and fingers crossed
