As bad as Taylor has been, I just don't think GO'D is/should be the answer.
He's showing a lot more than Taylor, but we should not be relying on a youth team player who has been forced into the first team to save our season.
He also shows well for 15-20 mins, but we have no idea whether he could handle a full 90 mins at a level higher than what he's used t playing.
That's not to say he can't ... Maybe he can ... But we can't count our chickens before they've hatched.

Something that doesn't seem to be spoke about anymore is goalkeeping.
I'd argue we need Eastwood back pronto...
But better still, I think we need a new keeper altogether?

McGinty, try as he might, just doesn't cut it.
Eastwood is average, but occasionally pulls off a worldly.
Stevens was statistically second worst keeper in the league last season. 6/20 clean sheets with PV this season.

Despite a more reliable defence, and a top league 1 midfield, we feel miles away from anything that mildly resembles a promotion capable squad.

Let’s not talk about on the pitch.

Let’s talk about off it.

Where the f**k was the big cup atmosphere under the lights? Embarrassing. Could hear a pin drop for large periods.
id blame that on the fact that we didnt look like scoring in any way possible. for the whole game, nothing.

Saka didn’t do anything
Damn day trippers in SSL- many in half n half scarves stood up (! ) and applauded the diving cheat Saka when he walked past SSL after being subbed- f*****g oblivious to Arsenal players taking forever to get back in their own half after celebrating scoring so the game could restart

* to be fair -at least some the same daytrippers were joining in with Rosies (tinpot) pre-match cheerleading- and with a few 'yellows, yellows' and 'come on oxford' 'organic' chants during the first half

As I've said elsewhere, Taylor was a different player when Baldock was creating space and pulling players away from him.

I think it would be a mistake to write him off (he's only 31) but we cannot keep doing the same thing up front and expect a different result.
Well let’s get someone else in, give him a rest, and take it from there. He’s been sole striker for the last couple of years.

I actually enjoyed it tonight the atmosphere was good I'm so proud of the players efforts arsenal had to bring on some real talent to beat us

My only real complaint is why does a big occasion bring out the twats (did anybody else see the person Chuck his/her drink and and hit a ladie in the east stand) also whilst walking to the game there was a group of chavs giving it large to some arsenal fans imo these are the people we don't want involved with our club
Chances are they were a gang of wannabes but only for the day and not our regular fans. A bit embarrassing really

Don’t agree at all on McGinty. Pretty solid and he’s very quick. He’s only going to improve. Eastwood won’t.

In an ideal world we get a striker soon but if not, I’d like to see KR flip their roles. Start G’OD, let him run the defenders around, cause trouble and stretch the game and then bring Taylor on with 15/20 mins left to either see the game home or play alongside G’OD in search of a goal. I don’t like it this way around, it doesn’t work. G’OD makes more sense for the team and how we play.

Goalkeeper is something I’ve harped on about all season. McGinty will get there but shouldn’t be on our time - he’s getting better. Remember his debut? Clear progress there but it’s not his time yet, Eastwood is at his best, but his best is still not good. We need a proper presence back there to bring some confidence to the defence which gets pulled around far too much.

Also we’ve lost Sykes, Williams, Holland & Whyte who loved a cut back cross for a tap in after beating a man.

Who the f**k is Sam on twitter? That guy makes a funeral seem like a f*****g party.

I genuinely think the kids got issues

It's baffling, right?! We actually look a really decent side up until the final third where we look utterly useless. Murphy and Wildschutt look like they'll bring some needed energy but my god do we need a proper energetic striker.

I love Matty, but this season he's been doing a very good Jamie Mackie impression.
Thought Murphy was awful tonight.

I was really disappointed with Matty tonight, and wouldn’t even say he was at the same level of Jamie Mackie e.g. never ran as much/closing defenders down etc. He’s always looking for the foul or causing one!

Overall we did well for an hour but then fell apart and crumbled for 15 minutes. It was tough to watch Elneny nod in unopposed from a free-kick and hugely
frustrating to see McGuane give Bate a hand grenade of a pass in the middle of the park.4 seconds later the ball was in the back of our net

We have found so many different ways of conceding soft goals this season and tonight was no exception. We killed ourselves again after so much effort was put in.

Brown worries me at left back when opponents run at him especially in the second half of games in particular. For me he runs out of energy and offers no attacking threat. He had a storming first half ; aggressive in the tackle , great in the air and looked after Saka really well. He’s a centre back and must play there with Moore!
Anderson and Fleming must play as fullbacks. The midfield three at L1 level will be fine - I’d like another body there to compete - but we have to find new ideas up front.

Karl has simply got to make some massive decisions quickly because for me we will continue to outplay and out-pass teams but fail to score goals and will
let in cheap goals. We will put too much pressure on ourselves by not converting openings.

Fleetwood looks a massive game for us - probably a must win - before playing Ipswich and Wycombe.
I agree with all your post apart from Brown being great in the air. He usually is but tonight I thought he lost too many headers overall, Saka did him at least twice as well which surprised me. Overall though thought he did well and Saka was kept quiet.

He’s 33 in a couple of months.

Prime for a two year contact, if KR’s previous form is anything to go by.

Couldn't expect much more from the team for the first 60 mins, but having so many kids on the bench just shows how we aren't going to compete with the top 6 until we can field a full team and an experienced subs bench. However good go'd may become in the future, none of the youth should be expected to play as much as they are.
Taylor seems to have fallen into that impact striker role. We need I would say 2 solid strikers, that Baldock and Taylor were for that brief period last season. Taylor, has lost something, and I dont think we'll see Baldock play a full set of matches again.
Turned off before kr could get hold of the microphone, but the above stems from the summer transfer debacle, krs fascination with crocs and his cardboard approach to one dimensional tactics, everyone sussed out on day one of the season. Too much to sort out robinson's mess in one window, but hopefully the new manager will be brought in, in plenty of time to hit the new season running.

Thought we played with a lot of discipline and shape.Anaemic up front though, almost embarrassing. Matt Taylor you’ve been a great servant for this club, but the end is nigh. O Donkor did more in his first minute on the pitch than Matty did in the first 75.

Thought the atmosphere was fine as well, my occasionally visiting daughter thought it was gripping stiff till the last 15.

Anderson should start further up the pitch, he’s a talent.

But in an effort to be not so yellow eyed you have to take your hat off to Martinelli; quite superb.
