Agood game to win, we would then go above the Shrews, Lincoln, and Wycombe on goal difference and reach the giddy heights of 12th.

Hopefully the start of a winning run with Port Vale, Woking & Forest Green to follow after.

My XI for Shrewsbury: [4-3-3]
Eastwood, Anderson Moore Findlay Brown, Gorrin McGuane Brannagan, Joseph Taylor Browne.

Will we see Josh Murphy, Sam Baldock or Jodi Jones involved?

Going into this with precisely 0 expectations (dog on the pitch notwithstanding) so just sending a sense of support. Sadly I'm working up north

What has Taylor possibly done to deserve a start ?

So many times recently we have gone behind in this game but come back to win.

With our current squad I can’t see this happening

Best we can hope for is a 1-1 draw but think we will lose 2-1

I think there's more chance of me starting at RB than Anderson away from home. From a positional sense defensively I don't think he's really up to it.

Been one of the best strikers at this level, year on year?

Not been at it this season of course. Almost as though a striker with a great finish that thrives in a quick, skillful, high energy team is going to struggle in a team that plays dull, turgid, one dimensional football.

Yet still remains our best chance of turning this around. A disappointing start to the season yes. I'm not ready to throw him on the scrapheap though. The onus is on the formation/ tactics more than the player for me.

In fact, I'd go as far as to wager that (together with sorting a new Keeper and Full Backs) one of the first things a new manager will successfully rectify will be getting Matty Taylor firing again - and pretty swiftly too.

Given that Taylor is very much a 'poacher' type of striker (rather than one who will regularly bang one in from outside the box or dribble his way through) then I think you have to look at the supply. I'll admit that he has been far from his best, but how many times has anyone got to the goal line and pulled one back for him, or played a through ball for him to run on to? The numbers aren't huge, I'd bet. The goals we have scored recently have been scruffy goals from set pieces or the aforementioned long range shots. So IMO putting him into the team is a bit of a poisoned chalice unless we play someone who can provide that supply - maybe that's Jones and/or Murphy, maybe Henry can rediscover some form.

This evenings referee is Darren Drysdale! That'll please KR. Odds on another card for the bench?

I still can't see who goes right back. If it's Anderson that makes a mockery of what KR said when starting Seddon last week

Certainly hope you are right

Taylor starting tonight will be ludicrous imo

And I say that as someone who has constantly been one of his biggest fans on here

60 mins for GOD then Taylor gets a run out..

Taylor has not had a good season but it’s far too early to write him off as done seem to have started doing. He’s proven at this level. However GOD has shown great promise and shouldn’t simply not start cos Taylor is back.

I’d like to see Goodrham and GOD start tonight.

I would be Very surprised if G.OD started over Taylor I agree G.OD should start just can't see it

Reckon we'll go with:

Easty
Anderson Moore Findlay Brown
McGuane
Henry CamBran
Joseph Taylor Browne

Personally thought Gatlin did plenty enough to start but know that won't happen now Taylor is back. I think we have enough to win this assuming we turn up, which we have been doing away from home.

No chance of seeing Jones today
The manager's personal animus trumps any good he might do for the team

We are unbeaten in 8 league games against Shrewsbury. I think it will end in a score draw which will take some of the pressure off Karl.

I'm not sure a draw would be enough to do that. It might move us up one place, but we need to start actually winning games at home rather than 'battling' to a draw against a mid-table team. If he doesn't use the full range of options he has available to him for the good of the team and club because of some bizarre personal grudge (if that is the case) then hard questions need to be asked of him by those in charge.
