Tickets 2022/23 season tickets

I've also just realised, if I cannot attend the game and my children instead go with their grandfather, they wont be able to get in because they don't have access to a smart device to present their digital season ticket...

That's a very good point raised. @OUSP Secretary can you pass this one on to the club. Even if there was a way to print at home a ticket for one game at a time it woukd help out situations like this.

If you don't get a physical ticket you won't be able to lend it to someone for games you can't make. (Not sure if this is allowed but everyone does it).

I've renewed, I phoned the ticket office. Lady very helpful as per

I didn’t even twig the digital ST only thing (and didn’t see the option to amend it to include a physical card as well!)

Hoping we have the choice to upgrade a digital ticket to a physical copy at a later point if needed

(Putting it on record that I think it’s a bit crap having to pay a tenner for a physical ST, and I do think it’s slightly disingenuous to push a ‘frozen prices’ line for renewing ST holders because it obviously isn’t.

BUT I do get that costs are going up, and I do get the environmental benefits of phasing out season ticket cards)

add into 'points against' the unreliable wi fi signal at the breeze block...... (a possible theory as to why its so bad there being the hamsters powering it not being fed by the slum landlord ).... there have been occasions where the both wifi signal has dropped and electronic readers on the turnstiles have 'gone down' on matchdays causing holdups at turnstiles . Also there have been occasions when purchasing match tickets from the ticket office on non matchdays, when wifi has dropped making it temporarily impossible to buy tickets by credit/debit card( luckily I had good old fashioned cash on me when that happened)..

Personally think charging for the card makes complete sense. I would guess about 95% of people have a smart device of some description, and so cards really aren't a neccessity anymore. I havn't used one this season.

I would guess that (in answer to @East Stand Fan's scenario) that the club would be more than happy to print paper tickets if required for the odd game to allow entry - in the same way that they might if someone forgot their phone.

The rise in price also feels overdue. The club is getting bigger attendances than ever before (more popular, better product), prices are increasing in general, and the football is probably as good as its been for over 30 years. The club have to keep up, and have to cover their own increasing costs.

You don't need WiFi/4g to scan a qr code from an apple pay/Google pay smart device.

Yeh, but that applies to scanning the cards too.
True. Even though, thinking about it I think you may also need a connection for smartphone as well. I'm betting the app doesn't save anything locally to the phone, and does indeed need a connection to display the QR code. Most apps will work in that way, getting information from a cloud server on the fly instead of local storage.

Just tried Google pay on mine with mobile data off and it shows my covid pass, bank card and the mk home game qr ticket, so looks like it works without connection. You preload the ticket to the Google pay account and its stored on there prior.

You can send the digital ticket by imessage/whatsapp etc, so it actually can make it easier, in that you don't have to physically lend anything

if saved to Google Pay or Apple Pay wallets it doesn't need a network connection.
