General Players out on loan

The stand in keeper (who is actually a centre-half) helped with those with his positioning* as he gave Ashby most of the goal to aim at. That said Ashby still had to hit the target and he did well.

*I don't blame him for that. Poor decision by the actual keeper when he got sent off.

The ‘keeper was Jonathan Henly who was briefly on loan with us from Jan to Feb 2014. He made the bench a few times but never made an appearance.

Another one to add to the growing pile of players (mainly from 2000-2015) that I have absolutely no recollection of. At least this one didn't play a game.

The club announcing his arrival...

Don't remember him at all and clearly he did sign for us but that article still doesn't trigger any memory of him.

I scarcely remembered him either. I saw he’d been sent off against Oxford City and thought the name was vaguely familiar. Only after a google did I confirm he was with us very briefly. I actually thought he was from our youth team and was with us in the Conference days!

One of a handful of keepers over the years who we have signed and they've never made an appearance.

Tony Malessa (01/02)
Alex Cisak (07/08)
Shawn Jalal (13/14)

Be more if you added youth players who have covered at times.

I remember the last 2. Jalal was a reasonable Conference level keeper. As for Malessa, who? :)

Slavi Spasov working his way back to fitness and has joined North Leigh on loan.
Made his debut on Saturday as a half-time sub for a certain Jefferson Louis and assisted a goal.

LCP has joined Slough on loan and their manager said "We've also brought Leon in from Oxford United and that could be a longer-term thing as well, so we'll have a look at him in our environment."

He's out of contract in the summer but we think we hold a 1 year option.

I'd be surprised if we didn't look to take up the option or extend his contract. Chances have been limited by LCP had shown a lot of potential and another year of regular football could see him pushing towards a squad place. Although I'd hope that he's tested at a higher level than Slough next season.

He is 20 ,21 in November and no where near the first team it seems so could be a bit of a Kyran Lofthouse situation

Is it just me, or is there a lot of smoke and mirrors with our youth players coming through? A large number have played in the Tinpot Trophy at 16, 17 and 18, with the occasional place on the bench in a league game but then they seemingly drift toward a quiet release or long term injury, with the occasional loan spell thrown in. This enables Robbo to talk-up the youth system, yet in reality, the returns are pretty low.

The younger players coming through seem to be the likes of McNally and Smyth (ie picked up elsewhere).

Unfair or not?
