Well the consortium gossip/rumour has gone quiet maybe they’ve seen enough and thought nope, but if they’re still here they need to dig deep in their pockets for an Oxford championship hopeful side

I think this quote off the blackpool forum summed us up well. "Oxford are very predictable when they approach our area balls to feet in the box, the reliance of Barker. It did'nt produce enough threat",

I hope we really mix it up for the second leg. Shodipo on the left, Barker on the Right with Agyei and Taylor up top. Gorrin and Hanson in centre Mid.

Just as we’re not allowed to win a game of football without it turning into a “told you so” fest, where one result means anything that anybody has ever said previously that others have considered to be negative is magically and universally wrong.

It’s a shame that the bitterly divided, tribalistic society that we all have to live with outside of football seems to have made its way onto a lower league forum, but there we go. I guess the solution is that we all say nothing, or we all say the same thing as each other. Apparently anything even an inch either side of the line warrants teams being drawn up and mud being slung.

I don’t know why people care so much about what others think to be honest, nor why anybody would come here knowing they’re only going to get upset. There are plenty of times when I can’t be arsed with it and give it a swerve for a night, rather than reading page upon page of stuff that will wind me up. It takes more effort to show up and post than it does to do nothing.

It’s all a bit weird. Think I’ll go and watch a few episodes of Forged In Fire until everybody calms down.
ask yourself why theres people posting "told you so "posts?

Ok let me think

Rochdale away

MK Dons away

Crewe away

Gillingham home

Burton home

Bottom 4 at xmas to play offs not bad for useless players and manager that can't rise to the occasion

Many would be happy to reach the play offs at the start of the season but many forget it's not a given when you do as it's just a lottery

Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the opposition were better on the day,

The problem on this forum is we are not allowed to lose a game of football without having to read the same negative repetitive stuff and it just becomes boring

We are allowed to lose a game and yes there will be criticism but to lose at a whimper then yes there will be a lot of negative stuff.

Although it was a little unexpected to be there, statistically we've been the best team in the league since December 15th, that's not luckily sneaking in, that's storming in from afar.

We then changed our style of play which saw us get there, and it wasn't forced by Blackpool either, they didn't press high this time and yet we didn't have any patience to keep the ball and move it, we just resorted to launching long balls back into their possession.

I think Blackpool have been excellent this season and they are of course better than us, but that's not the reason they won 3-0 today, I don't think they performed that well offensively (they were always going to be pretty solid at the back), I think that's one of the easiest 3-0 scorelines they've earned all season.

They took their chances and we're lucky they missed 2-3 more good opportunities whilst we fumbled everything. They just stood solid at the back and all we had to do was do the same, but we were a disjointed mess leaving gaping holes at the back, acres of space inside our own penalty area, it was absolutely crazy football in a playoff 1st leg.

I still watch in amazement at how much space Ellis had for their 2nd goal, he flicked the ball across 5-6 yards in our own box and noone got near it, noone from midfield dropped in, it was embarrassing really!

So we can add that to the Tranmere game where we seemingly lost the plot under the cameras. Another moment where we rave about the great football we play to passing Oxfordshire football fans and when they actually tune in they watch an entirely different side again, such a shame.

Miracle required in the 2nd leg, early goal required or they'll see it out comfortably.

With KR in charge you won’t see that line up

Absolutely gutted with the result tonight.

We were undone by a far more clinical side, but having said that, had we taken a few half decent chances of our own we would still have been very much in with a shout. As it is, we messed up, got it wrong, and lost to a team that did exactly what they needed to do.

Fair play to Blackpool and good luck to them. I can see absolutely no way they are going to implode on Friday, but stranger things have happened.

Regardless of some of the negativity on here and as disappointing as tonight has been, I am still incredibly proud of the players to actually get us to this point.

A few weeks ago this was not on the cards and they showed a lot of character to achieve the final playoff spot.

Gutted that it didn’t work out but it probably reflects where we are at the moment.

Close but no cigar,

Genuinely in shock. Was expecting a right hard game. A bad 5 minutes for you guys has cost you.

If Maxwell doesn’t save that 1 on 1 at 2-0 from Sykes who knows what happens. I’ll b****r off and not gloat now. I’ll leave you with this: we beat Bradford 2-0 away in 96 and everyone was assuming it was game over. We lost 3-0 at home. You get an early goal on Friday and you never know.

Just got back in and feeling very deflated. A word on the atmosphere. It was disappointing overall, but unfortunately, taking the performance into account, there was no chance for it to get going. I think we all know that there are those fans who will sing and shout regardless of the situation, and there are those who need to be carried along with the moment. I was in the SSL giving it my best, but those around me were very quiet - it's frustrating, but hard to blame them. There was no opportunity to build that feeling of us applying pressure and being on top to get those quieter ones on their feet. We needed a spark from the players and unfortunately got nothing. If Sykes had made it 2-1 I think we'd have seen a different end to the game and a very different view on the atmosphere, as that would have sparked the fans. Que sera sera (we're not going to Wembley).

I think it’s over, but stranger things have happened. Well done Blackpool, if we fail to turn it round, I hope you go up.
No team in the play-off semis have come back from 3-0 down in the 1st leg have gone on to make the final!

You would take championship football any day of the week but the reality is that we are nowhere near good enough. I said in one of my previous posts that against teams like this we look really lightweight.
But if we did get promoted (not now though) then you strengthen the team in the summer to be stronger in the championship.

Beaten by the better side on the night, no complaints from me. To be honest, I'm really not bothered. After over a year without being able to watch my team I was just happy to be there. Getting into the playoffs was always a bonus for me, not because I thought we'd win them, but because it meant I could watch football live in a stadium again. Not ashamed to say I felt the emotion before the game.

Great to be back.

if we were all in our own seats it wouldve been far better as well.My actual seat had no one in it,in fact the whole row was empty!

We were lucky to be there, ultimately we were all shown what most of us already knew, there are a collection of teams in this league that are better than us, and Blackpool demonstrated in several ways that they are one of them.

Just hope we can restore a little pride and try and make the scoreline a little more respectable, any more is quite frankly a miracle
