National News PC gone mad? Chestfeeding

Was removed from public viewing............... but nothing gets removed on the internet.
Just check out the list of folk involved.......................
Ta. I just had a bit of a read, and there doesn't seem too much to get upset about to me. They point out that an important motivation is that gender reassignment is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010, so maybe complain about that - it's the reason for the document and they have clearly decided that it's a tricky one to deal with so put some effort in. The only thing in that whole document I find a bit jarring is the word "breast/chestfeeding" and "breast/chestmilk" and clearly that's what the media picked up on - everything else is pretty much common courtesy. It's a bit like the whole "chairman/chair/chairperson" and "manhole/access point" kerfuffle a decade or two ago. Now no one seems to mind too much.

Am I right in thinking that chest-feeding applies to women who have transitioned, identifying as men but still able to breastfeed?

I find it really odd that we've had a right wing or government for years and years now and yet people still seem convinced the left are seconds away from demolishing all the world.

I swear if the pubs were back open, half the things people get angry about lately would have been rightly ignored

It's not odd. It's what you get with a predominant right wing media pushing out a constant stream of anti left bullshit.

And that is exactly how these things "grow".
Protected characteristics rightly exist, but should only apply to the things that can not be changed, the things you are born with.
Gender, colour, disability, age, sexuality are all de facto, pre-determined states. The hand of life you get dealt.
Pretty much all the others are a choice/optional/influenced such as religion, pregnancy etc. and deserve protection but not in the same way.

 Rarely have I seen such a rancid take.

Really? They are choices.... you choose religion..... you choose pregnancy..... choose life.. (sorry!)
I have no problem with them being protected to a degree, as an example, protecting a womans job if she gets pregnant but they are not in the same "category" as the born with characteristics.

Scientifically speaking, Is that female to male transgender a male? No. No amount of gender realignment surgery will change the fact that biologically, she is still female. Based on that, it would never happen.
You don't live by the laws of this land ? Because by law you can change gender

I don’t care what the law states. I care about scientific fact. No amount of medical intervention can change the scientific fact that you cannot change from one gender to another.
You are very good with the "i" word. This world is not just for you. It is for all of us what ever your race, colour, gender, .
I'll ask you again, You don't live by the laws of this land ?

19 pages of pointless waffle if we are being realistic.
I would hazard a guess that the document took in excess of 6 months to create and filter through the various committee`s and endless meetings.
A great cost to achieve what exactly? Nothing, absolutely nothing.
I`ll tell you what will happen next as well.... it will now spread into other Trust`s, other public sectors and Councils.
More meetings, more policy changes, more cost.
It is exactly the thought that "its a few words in a guideline" that lets this pointless :poop: roll out across organisations.
Then it will become someone`s "right" and woe betide anyone who slips up because there will be a leeching lawyer just waiting to defend that "right".

It should be culled right now. Someone needs to step in and say No, enough.
By all means choose your words to suit the audience ...... but it isn`t policy.
I dare say those pointless 19 pages of waffle were achieved by some kind of committee. Probably that committee included some very prominent Doctors/Surgeons maybe even some Consultants ?
But then I'm guessing, just like you are with this post.. just guessing

Denial of fact isn’t something that I, or the wider world should encourage. I’ll say it again: no matter what medical procedure you choose to endure, you cannot change gender. You may try, but you can’t. Shall we just pretend that science is wrong?

You’re making it sound as though I don’t think this world is for everyone? Thats not the case at all. My point is: a man cannot be a woman and a woman cannot be a man. Prove me wrong.

A woman might not choose pregnancy if raped for example.

Look up the Gender Recognition act. It will clearly state how you can change gender by law.
It will state how to obtain a GRC ( gender recognition certificate) some of which are...
Changing your name by deadpool.
Living in your acquired gender for over two years.
Pay the required fees.
Live in your acquired gender until your death.
Along with the relevant certificates from GP's and gender counsellors.
Now show me that you cannot change your gender by law

You’re missing the point. I could change my name to Pat Butcher tomorrow and go through all of the necessary medical procedures to look like her, talk like her, and smell like her. The fact remains, under the surface, biologically, down to the chromosomes in my body - I AM STILL A MAN! Nothing can change that.

I think your missing the point, you asked me to prove you wrong in that you cannot change gender by law, your words .
I have.
The gender recognition act clearly states you can and how. I'm now asking you again to prove me wrong in that you cannot change your gender by law.
You have not provided that

No, I asked you to prove that you can change genders. Again, I don’t care what the law says. The law doesn’t change science. You cannot change genders using medical procedure so for the second time, prove to me that you can!

No, I asked you to prove that you can change genders. Again, I don’t care what the law says. The law doesn’t change science.
The Gender recognition act.. look it up, it
The law is the law.
You can deny the law as much as you like but it's there for the whole world to see

Fine. You can side with a law to give you whatever peace of mind it is that you seek. Meanwhile, I’ll sit here with the scientific proof that no matter what you do, a man CANNOT be a woman and a woman CANNOT be a man! No amount of laws can change science. It’s ridiculous that you choose to overlook that, and side with the law on a matter of health..
