Hi. It’s lovely and sunny here in Northampton. Shame, I was looking forward to today’s game. They don’t seem too bothered in the NTFC fans forum but over here ... gee it’s all kicking off!
I think it’s probably because you guys treat this as a derby game whereas over the border it’s just another game. Enjoy your sunny afternoon guys and hope to see you again when the weather perks up a bit.

Played on a lot worse pitches then that. Oldham a few seasons ago comes to mind, was like a mud bath.
Ipswich at home, last season, was way worse than that, and we were able to play the game. This is dodgy. It absolutely stinks but hey, we know teams can do what they want and the EFL won’t do a single thing about it.

Derby? Swinedon is a Derby, Northampton more of an Accrington.

Derby? What a nonce. You are irrelevant. You were scared of getting hammered at home so you bottled it.

And even you know that's a load of old cobblers.

Wait a minute, did you just call it a derby 🤔. We are pissed off as we are on a 9 match unbeaten run and a win today for us would of put pressure on those teams in the play offs and pushed you further back towards the relegation places where you belong.

FFS

What a tinpot club, if they can't keep a bit of rain from ruining their pitch?!?

This season is becoming a farce, too many clubs exploiting COVID regulations, to have games postponed, and now these shenanigans from tinpot clubs who don't have the bottle to fulfil their fixtures when they're expected to.

This is supposed to be league one for god sake, not the conference!

No derby here just a set supporters annoyed that they’ve had 3 league games in a row postponed to pile onto a already congested fixture list and 3 weeks between our last and next league game.

This may be true that they haven't tried very hard to play the game, but how have they managed to twist the arm of the referee 4.5 hours before kick off with no further rain predicted in the weather forecast. It's the referee that needs looking at.
Perhaps they sent the referee this photo and he called it off from home?

😂 This ain't no derby pal, just a professional league one football club, frustrated, yet again, that we've had another fixture cancelled, and our momentum stalled, by yet another amateur, tinpot club, who have bottled it.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but other than that, your little tinpot club are irrelevant to us.

You've f*****g bottled it,I live within 20 mins of Northampton and it hasn't rained here since 930am your club is a shambles, another club using an excuse when there 2 best defenders arent fit, shocker that aye

I remember the game at Bristol Rovers, couple of seasons back. Lots of us sat in the cafe discussing whether the game would go ahead or not. It had been raining all morning and was really wet everywhere. Got to the ground about an hour before kick off to see what was going on to find a pond in front of the away support seated area all around the goal mouth. Not looking good, we thought. Then out came the ground staff with rollers, forks etc and proceeded to set to with a vigour. Sure enough, come kick off, water had gone, pitch was damp and a bit slippery but the game went ahead.

So NTFC, are you so incapable of preparing a pitch for a sport that takes place predominantly through the poorest weather seasons? Has the ref been conned into a decision made hours before it was necessary?
