15 options for the midfield / forward six spaces. 2.5 players per slot. We’re one winger / forward away from being able to put out three entirely different frontlines.

Six options for the back four. One of them is 34 and injured, two of them have been injured recently, one of them isn’t a defender at all.

If we can’t afford to sign anyone else that’s fine. If we can and will then you can’t really kick off at people raising an eyebrow if it isn’t a defender.

Don't disagree with your point here, but I think KR would consider Forde and Hanson in his possible defensive options. Then add in the positions someone like Long can cover.

I think the ideal solution for us went and signed for Crewe. Beckles coming in to cover CB and LB would have been ideal

If a starting CB did come in though and everyone was fit again, who would be dropped? I actually think that Atkinson has done enough to show he could be absolutely excellent for us, while Moore has struggled since Dickie left, and even before that with the Wembley debacle. I’d be tempted to drop him.

If everyone gets back fit though I personally don’t mind having a starting CB partnership of Atkinson and Moore. That’s easily a top 10 CB partnership in League One. Yes it’s tight if we get two injuries, but any team will be tight in any position if they get two injuries with a squad limit of 22.

With one injury who do you bring in? Mous, age and his growing coaching presence cant be relied on for more than a few games, and Jones is way off Division 1 standard. It would be utterly staggering and madness to not consider bringing one in, which I'm sure will happen. For once kr is keeping his words to himself, a very wise move.

I believe the expectation was that mous would be the experienced backup, and the three of them would be enough, with Jones getting the odd cup run-out and maybe stepping up later on, but with mous seeming more fragile than we thought, I think we do need another experienced head in and around the defence and should use our final squad place for that ahead of the wide left spot, which we can always bolster with an exciting youngster in rotation with cooper.

In the mean time, if we need to use long in the middle, maybe take Clare out of the firing line for a game or two by trying Hanson back in there?

Woodburn has had a renaissance since returning to Liverpool and captains the under 23 team.

Well if we sign him instead of an experienced or versatile centre back then it would prove Robinson as either a genius or a lunatic. There will be no middle-ground left for him.

Crikey, 32 year-old Anya who hasn't played a game since May 2018. And got no interest during the final 2 years of his Derby contract so was more than happy to sit and occasionally play for their U23 side.

Agyei has started 2 games at LW. He has 1 goal and 1 assist. Personally I would be more than happy with rotating him and Cooper in that position and if we only make one more signing I would pick a defensive reinforcement, someone with a bit of experience that can offer some leadership and organisation at the back because that is sadly lacking at the moment.

Especially as after a handful of preseason games and a few others, we have already had Ruffs, Mous and Atkinson injured to one degree or another. Anyone who thinks we are going to get to the end of the season without more injuries/suspensions/loss of form among the defence is being very optimistic!
