Current Player #17 James Henry

We lost to Wycombe on July 2nd I think it was. Nearly 3 months ago, shouldn’t Bloom have had an affect on Henry - or any other player - in readiness for the new season two and a half months later ? Why should we believe all the psychological claptrap when the likes of Henry, Eastwood, Brannagan and Taylor in particular look like they remain badly scarred from Wembley ?
I hope you never need any kind of therapy. It’s not like taking antibiotics you know

Therapy is finished when it's finished, there is no time scale on the psychological state of people.
Also, and this may shock you, like any treatment sometimes therapy or psychological help doesn't actually work regardless of the skill of the professional.
I do agree that Henry needs some time away from the first XI mind...he's a passenger at the moment.

Could just be coincidence but with Henry thriving as captain on Saturday I wonder if KR may leave him with the armband. Might be motivated by the extra responsibility etc. even if he doesn't strike me personally as 'captain material'.

Brannagan looks like the other candidate, and having done a few games, might generate an adverse reaction if he's asked to give it up. Also could take a few pennies off his price tag when he's sold.

119 appearances for OUFC, 34 goals and most have been very important, god knows how many assists he has had.
He is a player who probably came to Oxford Utd a season or two to late in his career to be a legend, however a great servant at present....!

28 assists according to transfermarkt so a goal or assist every other game.

You're half a season behind on those stats I'd guess. Sure he's scored 37/38 and played
getting on for 150 odd games.

Edit. Just looked on a comparison with Jim Magilton who scored 34 in 150 games so pretty good going from Henry.

When do we start talking about James Henry as an Oxford legend then?... his stats are up there with some of the best we’ve had. Goals and assists.

Nowhere near being a legend. Our last legend was probably Jake Wright, if not him then James Constable.

Legends are few and far between - Aldridge, Briggs, Burton, Beauchamp, etc. There are heroes like Roofe and Constable who made a big contribution and maybe 'folk heroes' like Hylton and Baldock who weren't necessarily brilliant or long-serving but were just really well liked and made a big impact.

Constable is a legend. Dragged the club up from its knees, scored some crucial goals including Wembley and Swindon. Turned down an absolute wad of cash to go to Swindon. Tears on leaving. An absolute legend in every sense of the word.

Yes, you can argue the score on lots of players, I was just trying to work out some categories. It's very subjective.
