International News Covid-19 .....

It was a joint investigation by the Mirror and Guardian but I couldn't care less which paper it was

Still the point that it undermines the Govt guidance and uncovering the hypocrisy coupled with putting others at risk. To borrow from elsewhere:

Hancock: These are not requests, they are instructions.

Shapps: It's up to individuals to decide for themselves.

Also, nevermind that his wife's own account contradicts what has since come out, so this report challenges fake news.

Amusing watching low-rent double glazing salesman Grant Shapps trying to argue that black is white re Cummings on the BBC at the moment! And moaning that people aren't praising the upgrade to the A606 (or whatever!) :)
What’s wrong with double glazing salesmen?

Over- riding safeguarding issues justify his behaviour. There was a young child involved.

As also confirmed just now by estimable Dr Jenny.

That is *not* what she said, unless you were listening with a very selective ear. She re-stated what the 'rules' were and said she would not comment on one individual.

‘People in public eye in lying shock’
Not the first time is it?

It's the first time to my knowledge during a Pandemic which has already caused over 50000 deaths- more than died in the Blitz say- and when they've been lying about breaking the sanctions they have imposed and hounded others who broke them.

But I'm sure you. and the rest of the Kool Aid Gang will remain relaxed about it, because it doesn't make the front page of the Daily Telegraph.

Would you like a Cummings Quarter Pounder to go?

The irony of people not realising that it isn’t politicising to report on a thing that’s happened. It’s politicising when people don’t report it, or choose to ignore it, on party grounds.

Christ we’re in so much trouble as a society if even this is too difficult to understand now.

When the Cummings story broke I thought even the Tory devotees on here would say, 'fair cop, silly boy, has to go', fully in the knowledge that he would be sneaked back into number 10 after a suitable time on the naughty step. I really didn't think anyone would try and defend his actions.

As a Tory mate of mine said (yes I do have Tory mates) 'if he had any decency he would resign'.

meanwhile this trivial disease which only hurts those who have underlying issues -or are otherwise poor or unimportant continues.

282 reported fatalities today vs 468, 345, 621, 843, 1115 on previous Saturdays.

Patients in hospital with coronavirus 11% down on last week.

On the whole, the data is really encouraging. It's taking time, but we're seeing consistent progress.

Shocker you could also look at things through a different lense and realise that as 99% (pure guestimate not scientific) have behaved correctly things are actually looking up! Or dwell in a pit of misery getting excited about any negativity you can find online. Personally looking for the light at the end feels a lot better than looking for the s**t, but each to their own!

p.s. as I am a bit if a luddite managed to mangle the quote from twitter, it's from Prof Karol Sikora.

A lot of people have done some fantastic work it’s true. Very few of them have been in the government.

A lot of people are suggesting that actually it was his mums birthday in Durham( Which was why he was spotted dancing to ABBA )?and his sister who supposed to be “looking after the child” came up from Didcot

To be fair, I found a report earlier about a labour MP who attended a funeral with 100 other mourners during lock down, which is against guidelines.

For some reason YT didn’t post this article up for comment? A situation that had 100 mourners together and potentially spreading this deadly virus.

Given the depth of what he has posted on here and the strength of his feelings, I find that incredible that he choose to ignore this.

Unfortunately, his stance on here is clearly one dimensional and whilst others do show balance, I am afraid he is most definitely politicising this situation. I believe one of his early comments said this wouldn’t have happened under Labour.

I am sorry but TY has no credibility, he is exploiting this terrible situation and I find that very sad.

Would argue some fantastic work has been done by this government, furlough, financially backing the scientists etc, etc, and they've also right royally fucked up!! But at the moment the noises from the scientists, statistic rates are all positive, and still we have people looking for the negatives and really we have and still are going through an unpresidented episode in our history, personally feel it's time to look positively and look forward to eventually getting back into the pub!!!

Wasting your time... he can’t bring himself to accept anything good has come out from the government.

If only it was Labour though, eh?

Annoys the hell out of me, as from a poor traditionally labour only voting area, I have voted for all the main 3 parties in general elections in respect of who I believed at the time was right for my situation, this tribalism that your party is the right one and anything else is wrong is nonsense.
