International News Donald Trump πŸŠπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It was the only word I could come up with that adequately describes him. A cuck. It's what he is.

For all the red faced anger, finger pointing and yoof agitating, when it comes down to it, he's a moderate lap dog. With good reaction times for his age

Gary Baldi is an incel, who would have thought it (actually makes perfect sense come to think of it)

Wow so Baldy you're now backing a corrupt and incompetent liar whose neglect has led to the the deaths of many thousands as he calls for an armed rebellion against the lockdown.

You're a danger to humanity.

Baldy was banned some time ago YellowTaxi.

As for the rest of your post

If I was backing a corrupt and incompetent liar, I'd be a Labour party member who thought Corbyn was a good idea and that he "won the argument" in the last election. Or someone who thought Bernie Sanders would grow a set and fight to the end against Joe Biden, rather than naffing off to one of my 2nd homes like a good little socialist.

As I'm not that, I'm good (y) (y) (y) . Appreciate the concern tho.

And yet you get triggered when people accuse you of whataboutism.

You are the one with the triggering issue on whataboutism. The fact you stalked me for months just to say "whataboutism" suggests you are the one with the issue doesn't it?

I can’t really follow this thread but anyone who sticks up for Trump has to be either wilfully stupid or corrupt

Meanwhile, our favourite American president seems to be encouraging the demonstrations against the lockdown that his own government has put in place:

"Mr Trump - who faces an election in November - last week tweeted in all capital letters for several states to be liberated.
At Sunday's coronavirus briefing he said those protesting against their governors' social distancing measures were "great people"."

I'm not sure you could make this up really.

Were the states he tweeted about ones controlled by his party, or opposition ones?

Democrat Governors, he conveniently forgot about the Republican ones.

And the organisers of these demonstrations have some "interesting" backgrounds, and are from the right of the right wing, whilst trying to portray themselves as a grass roots movement. They aren't that by any stretch and are of the more extreme end (not claiming they are neo Nazi's by the way) of Trump's base.

Fortunately for most Americans, public opinion is most decidedly against them at the moment.

Some nuance. The US are in a similar position to the UK in that some more rural areas have been affected differently to some urban areas and are in a different place in terms infections, etc from COVID-19. Also worth considering how the virus is differing in Ireland and the UK where the population has less density in terms of location

There was talk last week about whether to ease restrictions in states like South Dakota but maintain them in places like New York where the pandemic is worse. Ultimately, it was felt to be a bad PR move, but Trump has a different perspective and lest we forget, their bailout has been far less generous than the UKs has so people are really struggling to survive.

Also, some states lockdowns are different too, rather than the blanket UK ban. This is a good summary of it:

Worth noting that Florida eased some restrictions last weekend to allow people to use the beaches for exercise, etc. Of course, no one wants to be the first one to break lock down from a PR perspective, but as you all can see, states have different lockdowns and people want to protest, they can as is their right.

yes but the problem here is that by protesting, they are likely to be contributing to health issues for others and in fact increasing the risk of a further delay to the thing they are protesting about!

It depends on some other factors too, on a broad level we have no idea if they've all had it, none of them have had it, etc. Our restrictions are different to theirs, so while the photo is very damning, the details are important too. I can well imagine in some locations locked down, they've had no cases.

The interactive map here shows an interesting picture:

The US hot spot is clearly in the far north east, and major cities towards the mid East. Do people in Montana need to be locked down in the short term? Or can they can slowly start to get back to work, etc. with appropriate restrictions? Does relaxing the lockdown in certain states help to sustain their economy and manufacturing, etc?

It's a complex picture

Republican, by any chance?
