With the recent departures, injuries and slump in form, the likelihood of promotion (at least automatically) is getting slimer. This could ultimately mean we struggle to keep hold of Dickie and Brannigan in the summer, the loanies return, and we end up with a skeleton squad again come the summer.
Therefore as a club, how do we move on from here. Do we take a gamble and offer new "big contracts" to our best players and perhaps current loan players to keep the core of a team, or do we play the selling game again and hope we once again unearth some gems to keep us competitive in the league next year.
I know we aren't the biggest club in the league, but from an ambition perspective it would be nice to believe we are planning for the Championship.
