General Jan transfer window

Honestly, I'm guessing most of us who have experienced actual significant life events, are not concerned about this.
I think some people on here best not leave the house for fear of having to cross the road!

The theory about needing the cash flow for playing the re-arranged fixtures this month for cash flow reasons..... well OK, we'll of had 10k + crowds against Man City, Wycombe, Lincoln and Newcastle; bigger than usual crowds against Rotherham and Ipswich and unbudgeted tv revenue from the Hayes & Yeading, Man City & Newcastle matches.

How are 6k crowds - with half of those ST holders - against Wimbledon and Accrington going to help compared to that lot?

More spin than a top. The problem is that too many forget too quickly how lied to and mistreated the fans have been, especially when the usual spin masters/club apologists get started.
Go on then. What are the lies? If you can set them out and the proof of what was said and how it wasn't fulfilled that would be great.

Are you actually an Oxford fan? If so have people at the club done anything to upset you? Or does your need to be a troll override your feelings of support for OUFC?

Russell Beckwith (Shandon's agent) has tweeted a signing emoji, brace for meltdown!
He also retweeted an article from someone saying that at 2.25m Baptiste to Brentford is an absolute steal. The bargain of the transfer window I believe they called it. Seems he’s pretty comfortable with the fee being quoted, which would mean that 3m for both him and Fosu would be accurate given the latter’s widely accepted 750k release clause?

If that fee is indeed true, and his agent seems to be implying it is by endorsing such a tweet publicly, then our pants are so far down they’re through the floor.

If that fee is true then it’s about time we got a back bone and told people we’re not a charity we have some of the best players in league 1 yet we keep selling for peanuts but anyway we move on to the next window and as fans we move on to tomorrow and cheer the boys that are here on to another 3 points ?

Yes, I just saw that. If we have really settled for that amount, then you really have to think we are a bit desperate. To balance that a bit, if we spent the money on a decent striker (an extra one, not just signing Taylor) it might work out OK. Not holding my breath.

Come on, get on with it. I want to log off from work and I don't want to not be paid for watching the transfer window to happen. Talk about taking your time!

I completely agree we shouldn’t have cash flow issues what with all of the additional, over budget, money coming in.

So as I also said what logical reason would make the club agree to shoehorning more games into an already packed month? Whatever the reason it was always likely to push the team to the point of breaking, even before the loss of Baptiste and Fosu,

The number of people referring to it as a bargain is a bit humiliating.

stop believing the media and Agents it was an offer we could not refuse (why is open to question ) and we could not stand in the way of the players that's all we need to know !!!

Could potentially be an initial 2 million, with a whole host of clauses? Promotion, 30 games, 10 goals, etc. Rising to something like 4-5 million if he performs as expected?

We seriously have to consider what has happened with this deal.

Just over 2mill for your 21yo with 3 years on his contract...plus the highest ceiling of all players at the club.

Whoever signed off this deal has had a mare...it just strengthens our need for an Ashton type. I think we all accept players will leave, that’s fine...but get a fair price for them

People still in denial about the fee. Its Whyte all over again. For whatever reason we're desperate for cash again, and have gone with the first whore to flash her knickers at us.

I think it’s whilst the club are under Tiger’s financial purse strings, hence these transfer funds helping to keep the club going.

When and if the new stadium project gets the go ahead will be when the REAL money men get involved. Just my guess!

And we'll have to make a choice as to who we believe. I can only really judge on past records and assume that our pants have indeed been removed by Brentford, prior to a shafting.

I hope Tiger is at the game tomorrow. I’m going to make an offer for his house and car. He literally won’t be able to turn it down, he never does.

The thing is though and everyone seems to forget this is that if he misses 12 months plus of the next 2 years like the previous 2 or worse( which hopefully he won’t) he won’t be worth much which IF the fee is 2.25 million might reflect this. Also if Thorne could stay fit??we would have a great replacement.
